Chapter 11 Pt 2
HC threatens Edgar, Edgar leaves to get guards
Linton thoat punches HC while leaving
HC leaves before guards come
Catherine throws a fit to get at Edgar and HC

Chapter 12
Catherine lets Nellie come into her room after 3 days (Jesus?)
Catherine is borderline crazy
Mad that Edgar wouldn't see her
Nellie doesn't want Cath to open window
Catherine forces window open, claims to see WH (childhood), calls to HC
Wants to be a little girl again, talks about how much has changed with Edgar
Doctor is optimistic about Catherine surviving
Find out HC and Isabella ran away together, Edgar refuses to except
Disowns Isabella, doesn't talk about her again -
Chapter 13

Chapter 14
Nelly implores Edger to help Isabella, he refuses and says that the two houses are to be separate (weak/fearful)
Nelly travels to WH, in disrepair (HC is no gental man/all is not well)
Hareton is rude/uncivil. Threatens to sick the dogs on her
All pretenses of love are gon, HC states he doesn't love Isabella and never did
HC says isablella could leave, she says HC would stop her
HC wants to meet Catherine. Nelly says the shock would kill her
Nelly's weak and agrees to bring a letter to Catherine -
Chapter 17
-Isabella comes to TG and talks to Nellie
-Describes HC changed appearance since the funeral
-Hindley tells Isabella they have debt to settle with HC and plans to kill him
-HC enters and stabs Hindley
-The next day, HC and Hindley begin fighting and Isabella leaves for TG
-Isabella leaves for London and has son Linton (dies 13 years later)
-HC discovers Linton
-Hindley dies soon after Catherine
-Due to debt from father, Hareton doesn't own WH and becomes servant to HC -
Chapter 15
-Nelly describes the aura around Cathy and her looks (nature-calming and quiet)
-Nelly gives letter to Cathy and Heathcliff arrives anxiously at door of the room
-Two hug and kiss as Heathcliff realizes her condition with despair
-Cathy speaks and they continue about who has killed her and their coming separation
-Nelly grows anxious as Edgar approaches the house from church, but Cathy refuses to let Heathcliff leave
-Cathy faints as Edgar reaches the parlor and Heathcliff leaves to the gardens -
Chapter 16
-Cathy is born, and Catherine dies soon after
-Because the baby is a girl, Linton will lose TG to HC
-Nelly claims that Catherine died a peaceful death and is in Heaven now, Catherine looks peaceful after death as well
-HC already knows about Catherine and asks for her to come back and haunt him because he can't live w/out her
-Nelly lets HC into TG to see Catherine, HC replaces the lock of Edgar's(?) hair with his own, Nelly entwines them afterwards
-Catherine buried on 'green slope' -
Chapter 18
Cathy grows up pampered with her father, but is confined to TG.
Edgar goes to visit Isabella and get Linton from her when she dies
Nelly allows Cathy to wander, but she finds her way to WU and meets Hareton. HC not there
Cathy learns Hareton is her cousin
Cathy gets mad at Nelly for keeping the secret -
Chapter 19
Natalie gets a letter from her master announcing that he and Linton are coming to WH.
Cathy is sent a lock of his hair.
Cathy meets him exuberantly.
Linton becomes depressed, goes to his bedroom.
Joseph came for Linton to return him to HC.
He is turned away. -
Chapter 20
Nelly receives orders to take LInton to his father the next morning.
Nelly wakes up Linton at 5' Oclock
Nelly tries to comfort Linton's enthusiastic questions by telling him lies about his father
When they arrive, HC doesn't even pretend to love his son
Refers to him as property, Calls his mother a slut and makes unnecessary comments on the boys appearance
HC will only put up with the boy because he will be the heir to TG
Linton begs Nelly to take him back, but Nelly rides away in a hurry. -
Chapter 21
By now Cathy is 16
Cathy tricks Nellie to walking to WH with her
-inciting event for Cathy's future relationships
They met HC, Linton, and Hareton there
Linton less sickly
HC convinces Cathy to stay at WH longer despite her father's wishes
HC tells Nelly his plan for Cathy and Linton to marry
While walking around WH Linton and Hareton argue
-shows parallelism to Catherine, Edgar, and HC's relationship
Cathy/ Linton love letters
HC loathes and despises Hareton, who loves and would protect him -
Chapter 22
Edgar Linton is sick
Nelly and Cathy go on a walk to cheer up Cathy
Cathy worries her father will die very soon and then Nelly will die and she will be all alone
She wishes she would live longer than her father so he wouldn't suffer without her
She climbs over a wall and HC tries to convince her Linton is heartbroken that she stopped writing him -
Chapter 23

-Nelly starts to get better
-Cathy acts strange around Nelly and runs off to bed
-Cathy is actually visiting Linton at WH
-Cathy and Linton disagree on perfection ~ weather motif
-Awkward encounter with Cathy and Hareton where he tries to prove he can read
-Hareton aggressively comes in and confronts/attacks Linton
-Cathy is distressed and doesn't return to WH for 3 days
-Linton blames Cathy for his problems
-Linton has a breakdown and Cathy forgives him
-Nelly tells Mr. Linton Cathy's secrets -
Chapter 25
Nellie tells Lockwood that these events only happened last summer
Nellie suggests that Lockwood might fall in love with Catherine / already is (He has her picture on his mantle). Lockwood denies.
Edgar at first doesn't want to let Linton and Cathy see each other but eventually they convince him to let them meet on the moors -
Chapter 26
Edgar allows Catherine and Nelly travel to Wuthering Heights.
A herd-boy tells the pair that Linton is not in the agreed meeting spot.
Linton appears feeble and is unable to move well.
Linton appears uninterested in Cathy, disappointing her.
Tells Catherine to seem happy to avoid Heathcliff's anger.
Catherine and Nelly leave, Nelly consoles Catherine and they do not make judgments.
Avoid telling Edgar much. -
Chapter 28
-When Nellie is released, Zillah informs her of the rumor that she and Catherine were lost.
-She searches the house and finds Linton who is now married to Catherine and informs Nellie that Catherine is still locked in a room.
-Nellie returns to Thrushcross Grange and lies to dying Edgar, that his daughter is safe.
-Catherine returns home just before her father dies.
-Edgar wished to change his will to keep Catherine's inheritance from Heathcliff, but he died before the lawyer reached the Grange -
Chapter 27
- Edgar very ill
- Cathy and Nelly head to moor, meet Linton
- Linton is wimp, disturbed w/ Cathy
- Starts sobbing "I shall be killed"
- HC arrives, speaks with Nelly of Edgar's health
- HC yells at Linton, convinces Cathy to return to WH
- HC locks door
- HC hits Cathy during key fight
- Linton tells Cathy HC wants them to get married
- "She must either accept him or remain prisoner"
- HC takes Cathy; Nelly is held prisoner by Hareton for 5 days

Chapter 29
Heathcliff comes to TG and Nellie remembers how he was 18 years ago
HC describes how Linton misses Cathy and cries at night because of it
HC refuses Cathy and Nellie's request to stay at TG with Linton
Cathy talks back to HC saying that his cruelty will take revenge on him
HC tells Nellie about the day Catherine died and how he got the sexton to reserve a place in her grave
HC talks of how Catherine continuously torture him with her breath, but never really shows up

Chapter 30
Nelly has not seen Cathy since she left for WH
No one is nice to Cathy at all at WH
Zillah tells Nelly that Cathy tended to Linton until he died
After Linton dies Cathy isolates herself in her room
Cathy goes downstairs and won't hold a conversation. The others perceive it as her being snobby/stuck up
Narration switches to Lockwood (end of Nelly's story)
Lockwood announces he is going to London, says that he doesn't want to spend another winter with these people -
Chapter 33
HC gets angry at Cathy and Hareton during breakfast
Cathy says Hareton will protect her over HC.
HC tries to attack her, but finds he cannot.
After, Hareton tells Cathy that she shouldn't hate HC because he is like Hareton's father.
Both Nellie and HC notice the similarities of Hareton to HC and Cathy to Catherine
HC is incapable of exacting revenge on Hareton and Cathy, despite their relation to the two people he hated most.
HC has lost interest in life, and still thinks of Catherine -
Chapter 31
Lockwood carries a note from Nelly at TG to Catherine at WH.
Cathy Can't send a response because she has no paper.
Cathy humiliates Hareton for his illiteracy
After Hareton returns Cathy's books, she continues to mock him causing Hareton to fling the books into the fire.
HC mentions that Hareton reminds him of Catherine everyday which seems to disturb HC -
Chapter 32
Lockwood returns to TG.
He discovers Nellie is at WH.
Lockwood goes to WH.
Lockwood finds out HC is dead.
Nellie recounts the story of Cathy's apology to Hareton.
Hareton and Cathy become close through Cathy teaching Hareton to read and the two fall in love. -
