    Capitol Hill Massacre
    As the Seattle Times reported, on March 24, 2006 Kyle Aaron Huff attended a rave at a house in the Capitol Hill region in Washington state. He returned in the early hours of the next morning with a 12-gauge shot gun and a semi automatic pistol as well as an ammunition belt. He killed six and injured two people before turning the gun on himself when the police arrived. [Picture from TackPinz]
  • Virginia Tech

    Virginia Tech
    The deadliest peacetime shooting in American history by a single gunman, the Virginia Tech Massacre left 33 students dead, including the gunman Seung-Hui Cho. The shooter killed the first two victims early that morning in a dormitory then began his rampage again in one of the classroom buildings. Students were lined up and shot before he took his own life.   • September 28 Guinea Massacre

    September 28 Guinea Massacre
    The Guinean Organisation for Defence of Human Right totalled 157 dead and more than 1,200 wounded in Guinea when the national military opened fire on a public protest in 2009. Ammunition and tear gas were fired into the crowd of 50,000 people. Four died from gunshot wounds, while the rest were trampled to death.     Fort Hood Massacre
    Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist opened fire at one of the largest military bases in the US on November 5, 2009 in Fort Hood, Texas. He killed 12 people and wounded 31 others with two hand guns. Hasan was reportedly upset he would soon be deployed to Iraq. His trials are currently still on-going for counts of premeditated murder.     Tuscon Supermarket Massacre
    Jared Loughner, a schizophrenic 22-year-old, began his shooting spree outside a Safeway Supermarket in Tuscon, Arizona in attempt to kill Congresswoman Garbrielle Giffords. He severly wounded her along with 19 others, and killed six. Loughner was sentenced to life in prison during is 2012 trial . [Picture from Fox News]
  • Mekong River Massacre

    Mekong River Massacre
    On Oct 5, 2011 two Chinese cargo ships were attacked by an armed drug gang on the Mekong Delta. Thirteen Chinese sailors were murdered and dumped in the river. The gang contained over 100 members and is reported to have been involved in as many as 28 other violent crimes against Chinese vessels and civilians since 2008. The attack was led by Naw Kham.     Kandahar Massacre
    In three small villages just outside a military base in Afghanistan, a US soldier attacked homes of innocent civilians. He killed 16 people, some found with their bodies set on fire. Staff Sergeant Robert Bales reportedly displayed no remorse at his trials stating, "I thought I was doing the right thing."

    Houla, Syria Massacre
    The town of Houla, Syria is known for its anti-regime demonstrations and opposition to the government. Just after their afternoon prayers on May 25 2012, hundreds of villagers were shot at with massive artillery.   • Aurora Theatre Massacre

    Aurora Theatre Massacre
    The midnight premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises" at a theatre in Aurora, Colorado was sold out. James Holmes opened fire on the audience. Holmes killed 12 and injured atleast 58. Prosecutors annnounced in 2013 they will seek the death penalty.

  • Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre

    Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre
    In late 2012, Adam Lanza age 20, left his home with an AR-15 assault rifle and two pistols, headed for Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. Before he left, he killed his mother. Once he got to the school he shot through the locked door and headed to a kingergarden and first grade classroom to continue his shooting rampage. Lanza killed 20 children and 6 adults before killing himself. [Pic from NBC]
