    This is when the allied forces of France and Britain declared war on Germany, it is important to note at this time U.S was still neutral. This was done because Hitler invaded czechslovakia and had ignored the rules set by the treaty of verssailles

    Following the resignation of Neville Chamberlain, Winston Churchill became Prime Minister of Britain. Churchill became known for his speeches to motivate the allies and his brilliant help at winning the war

    The evacuation of Dunkirk, codenamed Operation Dynamo or even the miracle of Dunkirk, was the evacuation of allied soldiers on the beaches of Dunkirk. It was a failure to the Allies because they were pushed back to the beaches of Dunkirk but the evacuation was a success.

    Italy joins sides with Germany and Japan, they are now known as the Axis Powers and fight against the Allies who consist of France, Britain and eventually the U.S

    The French armistice was a surrender to the invading German forces, and allowed the Germans an occupation in Northern and Western France. This was big for Germany because it was a major success and lead them onto bigger and better things.

    The battle of Britain was a German attack on Britain. The British used Aerial attacks to fend off the invaders and won the battle with their superior air force that the German's were not expecting.

    The Tripartite Pact was signed by the Axis Powers, it stated that one country would assist another if a neutral country should attack a warring country. This was directed at the U.S who were still neutral and the Axis Powers were worried the U.S would do a surprise attack

    Operation Sea Lion was the codename for the Nazi invasion of Britain during the Battle of Britain. Germany was expecting a surrender after they took france but Britain stayed persistent and invasion was the plan chosen by the Germans.

    The Siege took place in Tobruk, Libya and lasted for 241 days and resulted in an Allied Victory. Australia played a crucial role in the Siege of Tobruk having 14,000 Australian Soldiers under siege.
