    The Battle of the Bulge was the counterattack that Germany used to catch the allies by surprise. Though this created a big loss for Germany's experienced troops and wouldn't have been able to launch another attack. This was a turning point because it destroyed Germany's army, which foreshadows the end of war.

    The Manhattan Project was the making of the first atomic bomb that was going to be used in war. On the morning of July 16th the first atomic bomb was tested and very successful.

    Soon after the first atomic bomb dropped in Hiroshima, another atomic bomb was dropped in Nagasaki. This time, over 35,000 people had died due to the bombing.

    After the horrific bombings, Japan finally surrendered on the 2nd of September. This officially marked the end of war. This made this war the most costly in history. This war killed over 60,000,000 people, who had mostly been civilians.
