    European Leaders Rise to Power

    Erupoe was in a deppression and countries needed new leaders to build their economies. First Benito Mussolini became the fascist leader of Italy. Second, Adolf Hitler became chancellor and later dictator of Germany. Last, Hideki Tojo became military commander of Japan. These leaders all joined together to form the axis powers.
  • Kristallnacht

    Kristallnacht
    Hitler sends his secret police to percecute the jewish civilians in Germany. Hitler's "stormtroopers" cause a Substantial amount of damage to jewish communities. They destroied 1500 synagogues, 7500 Jewish-owned businesses, killed more than 200 Jews, and injured 600 others. This was an act of anti-Semitism from Hitler's final solution.
  • Blitzkrieg on Poland

    Blitzkrieg on Poland
    Germany fiercely attacks Poland. First sending in bombers, then sending in fast moving tanks with troops behind. Poland stood no chance to Hitler's Aggression. Hitler took over a whole half of Poland in about a month and Russia had the other side for themselves too. Hitler knew not to attack Russia so he signed a Nazi-Soviet Non- aggression Pact.

    The axis power is formed between japan, Germany, and Italy plust their controled territories.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    The Japaneese sprung a surprise attack on the American island of Hawaii. America's pacific fleet was all located around Pearl Harbor. Japaneese bombers destroied multiple battle ships and aircraft carriers. Their attack was extreamly succesful. This was the breaking point of America to enter the war to end all wars.

    Battle of Midway
    The American Pacific fleet was concentrated on the Midway island. Americans had intercepted a message weeks before that the Japaneese were going to take Midway so they could push America back to the West Coast. America easily dfeated a great number of Japaneese experienced fighter planes and bombers while only loosing few ships.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    Battle of Stalingrad
    Germany broke the Natzi- Soviet non-agression pact and invaded Russia. Germany's blitzkrieg was strong enough to push Russia into its homeland. Stalin focused all of his troops on a city called Stalingrad. Germany was at a stalemate untill the winter when they ran out of supplies to fight. Germany retreated out of Stalingrad and the Russians were hunting them like dogs. 107,000 Germans/Axis Power soldiers were captured and only 6,000 returned home.

    D- Day
    Planned Alli attack to retake France so a two front war can be put in place on Germany. The Allies made the Germans belive that the attck would be more Eastern with a fake army. It worked but taking the Omaha Beach was still a challange for the Americans. There were tanks buried in the ground, multiple machine gun nests, and the open beach front with no cover.

    V-E Day
    The Natzi's surrendered. Hitler commited suicide because the Russians were right outside his compound and the Americans were near by aswell. V-E day was celebrated by the whole world but unluckly Roosevelt passed away weeks before Hitler's demise. Truman had to lead the country to the final victory.

    Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    Japan refused to surrender even though America had captured all of the surrounding islands. America got in bombing range of Japan and bombed alot of millitary structures but they still didn't quit. America sent in a secret squadron with the plane called the Enola Gay and dropped an atomic bomb on two civilian Japaneese cities.

    V-J Day
    The Japaneese realised the causalties that had occured. They knew more atomic bombs would come if they did not surrender. They endded up surrendering and sighned their surrender on a battle ship in Tokyo Bay. All war was over and peace was the only thing on Earth.
