Second Battle of Ypres
WW1: Second Battle of Ypres, 1915Ypres was the frist time that gases were used in the warfare. It was also, the frist use of flame-throwers at Hooge. In the first week of the war, the Canadian troops were moved from their quiet sector to a bulge in the Allied line in front of the City of Ypres. Which made the Canadians notorious at Ypres Salient, where the British and allied line pushed into the German line in a concave bend. -

The frist tank were used in the Battle of Somme. But the unfourtunately, they only travelled five killometers per hour. Even walking was must faster than using tanks and when the tanks are stuck in the mud you would not be able to use to them anymore -
