    Pre-war event Japanese invasion of Manchuria
    The Japanese invaded the region of China called Manchuria for raw materials to fuel and supply their industrialization. At the time of 1931, Manchuria was a part of the Chinese Republic which was Japan´s enemy. Japan at the current time was heavily militaristic which in turn made Japan highly aggressive. Japan was ruled by the emperor Hirohito at the time who is suspected to not want war with China. This helped cause WWll because the countries get tired of Japan´s aggression.

    Genocide
    Genocide is the killing of a large number of a particular group. One of the examples of genocide in the war is Hitler. He killed millions of Jews because he believed that they had a natural impulse to conquer the world, so he killed them before they could. Genocide related to the war because of Hitler and Stalin.
  • The Rape of Nanjing

    The Rape of Nanjing
    The Rape of Nanjing occurred during the Secon-Sino Japanese war, and it occurred in the Capital of China Nanjing. The Rape of Nanjing was also known as the Nanjing Massacre, and it was an incident where tens of thousands of women and girls would be sexually assaulted, raped, and tortured. The massacre had a span of 6 weeks, and it killed not only soldiers, but it also killed civilians. This event affected WWll by taking what was the capital of China at the time, and it installed fear into women.

    Pre-war Munich Conference
    The conference was a meeting of leaders of Germany, France, Italy, and Great Britain. The meeting discussed and permitted the conquering of the western part of Czechoslovakia. The Leaders were Èdouard Daladier the Prime minister of France, Neville Chamberlain, the Prime minister of Britain, Nevile Meyrick Henderson the ambassador to Germany from Britain, Adolf Hitler who was the Dictator of Germany, and Sir Samuel Hoare, the 2nd Baronet the statesman for Britain. This tried to prevent a war.
  • Invasion of Poland

    Invasion of Poland
    The invasion of Poland would be memorized in history forever. The invasion of Poland is when Hitler attacked Poland from the air and land, and it was a primer for Hitler to wage war. Hitler would destroy any escape routes and would finish off any resistance, and build a base of operations. Poland had no hope of winning because of their lack of equipment. Hitler would send civilians to concentration camps to run experiments and force work. This is significant to WWll by being the start of it.
  • Dunkirk

    Dunkirk is a small town on the coast of Northern France. A massive military campaign was held here which also lead to a battle. The battle resulted in 338,000 British troops to get evacuated from the shores by American troops because German forces were pushing them back. This was important to WWll because it created a moral boost for the British and American soldiers which made them more confident.
  • The Battle of Moscow

    The Battle of Moscow
    The Battle of Moscow was the battle where Russia defended its capital from Germany. It started on September 30, 1941, and ended on January 7, 1942. This was the climax of Germany´s operation Barbarossa but they end up losing many soldiers and supplies due to atrocious weather. This ended up dooming the Third Reich which means the belief that the nazis were the successors of the Holy Roman Empire and the German empire. This battle affects WWll by this ending the neutrality for Germany and Russia.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    Attack on Pearl Harbor
    Pearl Harbor is a U.S. Naval Base located on the island called Hawaii. One Sunday Morning before eight the Japanese surprise attacked the base and managed to kill thousands of soldiers and civilians. They managed to destroy and damage 20 American naval ships which included eight battleships, and more than 300 planes. This attack managed to push the United States over the edge and made the U.S. join the war.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    Battle of Stalingrad
    The Battle of Stalingrad started on August 8, 1943, and ended on February 2, 1943. The Battle of Stalingrad was the battle where Russia defended its homeland from Germany. This ended up being a turning point for the allies because it was Germany's first major loss in the East. This affected the war by making Germany and the Axis powers go defensive while the allies gain confidence.
  • Tunisia Campaign

    Tunisia Campaign
    The Tunisia Campaign started on November 17, 1942, and ended on May 13, 1943. The battle started because Germany took Tunisia from America and the U.S. tried to get it back because of their trade. America needed supplies and back up so the British helped. America, Britain, Italy, and Germany both lost lots of supplies and equipment, but the U.S. won. This battle is significant to the war because it was the first battle that the British and U.S. fought together.
  • D-Day (Invasion of Normandy)

    D-Day (Invasion of Normandy)
    The Invasion of Normandy better known as D-Day is to not be forgotten. On the same day of the invasion over 2,500 American soldiers died and over 158,00 died in total. Hitler had set up defenses like the Atlantic Wall, bunkers, landmines, and beach obstacles that spanned 2,400 miles because he learned of America evacuating the British after the battle on Dunkirk. He did this because he suspected an invasion. This battle contributed to WWll because it would liberate Europe to stop Germany.
  • Kamikaze

    Kamikaze
    Kamikaze is the crashing of a plane usually into an enemy ship. Most people would die due to this method and it was highly effective. They would usually use fighter planes or bomber planes and put bombs and more gasoline in them. This method of battle connects to the war because the Japanese believed it was an honorable death.
  • Hiroshima & Nagasaki

    Hiroshima & Nagasaki
    The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was one of the most devastating and permanently damaging of the time during WWll. Even though it killed around 200,000 people in total it was still devastating. The reason this was devastating was the fact that these were the first atomic bombs that were used and it was dropped by a B-29 bomber in war, and this was the last time one was to be used in war. This in turn ended WWll and brought fear to millions, but this was said to stop any more casualties.
