German invasion of Poland

Sep 1, 1939

Polish amy was defeated. More than 2,000 tanks and over 1,000 planes, went through polish defence. In September 27, 1939 Polish surrendered to German, which Germany was being lead by Hitler.

Blitzkrieg in the west

May 10, 1940

This battle consisted of two main planes. One of the main things were, Germany pushed some units back to Belguim. Germany plained this attack very well, As the British government saw each other surranded by the German they decided to evacuate the British Expeditionary Force, as well as several French divisions at Dunkirk in Operation Dynamo.

Invasion of Russia

German failure before Moscow

Hitler thought once the heart of Russia, which was Moscow, was cutt off, they would just collapse. Hitler had ordered that units in other parts of the Russian campaign be moved to Moscow. Hitler had made it clear to his generals what he wanted from them.

Pearl Harbor

Hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. This event happend just before 8 am. This attack lasted about two hours. More than 2,000 American soldiers died in the attack. President Franklin D. Roosevelt asked Congress to declare war on Japan.

Alamein

This battle happend in North Aftrica. The Allied victory at El Alamein lead to the retreat of the Afrika Korps and the German surrender in North Africa in May 1943.

Midway Battle

For a while now, Japan niether America, could clam any victory for the battles they have had. Japanese, gave America time to plan there strategy. This battle ended the winning streak for Japan.

Defeat at Stalingrad

The battle at Stalingrad bled the German army dry in Russia and after this defeat, the Germany Army was in full retreat. Stalingrad was also an important target as it was Russia’s centre of communications in the south as well as being a centre for manufacturing.

Normandy invasion

Hundred of ships arrived on the beach, ready for attack. Three divisions of paratroopers had already been dropped inland. Following a brief bombardment by ships' guns, Soldiers of six divisions stormed ashore in five main landing areas.

Atomic Bomb

The atomic Bomb ended World War ll. The explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people. Ten thousand more died later, from radiation exposure. The Atomic Bomb wiped out 90% of the city.
