  • Einsatzgruppen, starts

    Einsatzgruppen were nazi death squads who were responsible for many mass shootings. They targeted anyone who was against the nazi party and the people who were innocently blamed (jews, gypsies. ect).
  • Wannsee Conference

    The Wannsee Conference proposed the mass killing of Jews aka “the final solution”. This put every Jew under German occupation in danger of being killed. Affected the jews.
  • Schutzstaffel Organized

    Schutzstaffel first started off as Hitlers body guard unit. Later on they would carry out all security related duties for the Nazis. This kept all the Nazi leaders safe.
  • St. Louis Ship (with Jews)

    The St. Louis Ship carried around 900 Jewish refugees. They tried to land in Cuba, America and Canada but were denied permission. The captain had to return them to Europe. This impacted those jews on the boat as they were forced to return to anti-semitism.
  • Hitler becomes Chancellor

    Hitler was appointed chancellor by president Hindenburg. This impacted all citizens of Germany because Hitler was basically running the whole government.
  • Hitler Claims Emergency Powers

    Hitler claimed emergency powers after the German parliament building was set on fire. This meant that all citizens of Germany were under Hitler's control. This impacted the citizens of Germany.
  • Boycott of Jewish Businesses

    The nazi party Boycotted buying from jewish businesses. This prevented Jewish business owners from making any money. (Affected the jews)
  • Law for the Prevention of Hereditary Diseases

    This law was passed by Germany stating that anyone with Mental disabilities would be put to death or any offspring that were born with a mental disability would be put to death. This impacted the mentally disabled.
  • Nuremberg Laws

    The Nuremberg laws forbid Germans to marry Jews. This was also called the protection of German blood and German Honor. This impacted Germans and Jews.
  • Law against Dangerous Habitual Criminals

    Germany passes a law stating that any habitual criminal captured could be indefinitely imprisoned. This impacted any Habitual Criminal as they could be put in jail for life.
  • Nazi’s Occupy Rhineland

    The Nazis occupied the Rhineland to restore Old Germany and keep the Germans together. This impacted all the people who lived in the Rhineland as they were now part of a new country.

    Kristallnacht/The Night of Broken Glass

    For some reason it didn't put the time periods in chronological order. Germans burned down synagogues and destroyed jewish owned businesses. This was a hate crime against the Jews. No Jew was safe in Germany. (affected the jews)
  • Germany invades Poland

    Germany invaded Poland and wins with ease. This sparked the start of World War II. Poland was now under nazi control. This impacted anyone who was Polish as they were now under nazi control
  • Lodz Ghetto Opens

    (February) Lodz ghetto housed Polish jews and roma it was the second largest ghetto in Europe. From here the inmates would be sent to concentration camps.
  • Madagascar Plan presented

    (December) The nazi government proposed the idea of moving all of the jewish population to the island of Madagascar. This would have impacted the Jews as they would've had to relocate.
  • Auschwitz opens

    The biggest concentration camp opens in Poland named auschwitz. 1.1 million people will die there. This impacted people targeted in the holocaust (jews, gypsies, disabled. ect)
  • Yellow Star for German Jews

    Germany forced Jewish Citizens to wear a yellow star so they could be easily identified. This impacted the German Jews as they were easily subject to hate.

    Babi yar

    Babi Yar was the massacre of nearly 34,000 jewish men, women and children by the Germans. The Jews were impacted because they were getting killed.
  • Last Gassing at Auschwitz

    (December) Auschwitz gassed inmates for the as the soviets closed in. These inmates were forced to dig up graves and burn the remains of other before being put to death. The gassings impacted everyone in the holocaust as they were being killed(jews Gypsies, homosexuals).
  • The Commissar Order

    The Commissar Order stated that any Soviet political officer that was captured was to be instantly executed. This impacted the Soviets as Germany was anti-communist.
  • Dr Josef Mengele arrives at Auschwitz

    (early 1943) Dr Josef Mengele performed meany human experiments on inmates at Auschwitz. This impacted anyone who he performed his experiments on as they would most likely die.

    Creation of the Zigeunerlager

    (February- July)
    Zigeunerlager was a gypsy camp in Auschwitz. Gypsies were held together instead of being seperated like typical Auschwitz. This impacted the gypsies.
  • Himmler Orders Liquidation of ghettos

    Himmler got rid of all the ghettos and sent the remaining jewish inhabitants to concentration camps. This affected anyone who was living in a ghetto at the time.
  • Himmler Orders Destruction of Auschwitz

    As Soviet forces continued to get closer. Himmler ordered the destruction of the gas chambers and crematoria to get rid of any evidence that mass killing took place there.
  • Liberation of Auschwitz

    The Soviets liberated auschwitz by now over 1.1 million have died there. But since the camp was liberated it could not function anymore preventing anyone from dying there.
  • Hitler Commits Suicide

    Hitler committed suicide by taking a pill. He died in his bunker. This affected Germany by leaving them without a leader.

    Also known as the Nuremberg trials were trials for Nazi leaders involving war crimes. Held in Nuremberg, Germany. Former nazi leaders would now be held accountable for their crimes. IMpacted nazi leaders.
  • Adolf Eichmann captured

    Adolf Eichman was one of the main orchestrators of the Holocost. He was captured in Argentina and put on trial. He would be put to death for his actions during the war.
  • Dr Josef Mengele Dies

    Mengele died while swimming in a pool of a stroke. He was in brazil.
