Japan invades Manchuria
The wanted to control Manchuria so they can gain power but the need the resources from the United States. They had a desire for wealth, power and prestige, that is one of the main resons why they did what they did. The United States id a dramatic walk-out of Japanese delegates from the League of Nations in 1933. This also caused them to attack Pearl Harbor outta anger and desperation. -
Hitler Takes Power
Germany and its people were in a great depression. This is because in 1929 the American Stock Exchange collapsed, and caused an economic depression.Because of this Hitler was able to take power. Also he was an amazing insperational speecher and that is another way he gained power. -
US Neutrality Acts
In Augest 31, 1935 congess passed the first Neutrality Act in the US. They did so because they didnt want to get in fights or have ties with the Europe but they also helped some states like Japan It helped them for a while but in the end it would be broken by Germany. And Japan in the end would attack the US on Pearl Harbor. -
Mussolini invades Ethiopia
Mussolini was really influenced by Hitler and wanted to rule kinda like him. So he wanted to control Ethiopia for power and resources. Mussolini began to introduce anti-Jewish legislation in Italy. In the 1939 Pact of Steel, he helped the Nazi's by Increasing co-operation. -
Germany invades Rhineland
Germany invaded Rhinelan for more power but also they wanna get revenge on the Allied Powers too.then they burst out of its territories, absorbing Austria and portions of Czechoslovakia. They wanna get there hands on Poland too but that will be the cause of WWll in Europe. -
Germany Invades Sudetenland
Germany wanted Sudetenland just to get closer to power over the whole country. Hitler also made it to were he didnt have to fight the Czechoslovakian army and he could just walk in and take Sudetenland and gain power.through fear Hitler was able to tell them to tell there army to leave the Sudetenland by 1 October -
The Munich Conference
Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, French Premier Edouard Daladier, and British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain sign the Munich Pact, which seals the fate of Czechoslovakia in 1938. They wantd to seal and stop Hitler from gaining more power. Later on Hitler breaks it and takes over Czechoslovakia, he also got there coal and resources as well. -
Kristallnacht
The Germans used the "Kristallnacht" to completly remove Jews from German public life. The Germans were led to belive by Hitler that the Jews currupted Germanys power and led them to lose fights in wars.In the end the Germans were allowed to do that and the US did little to help them but then at a press conference on November 15th, President Roosevelt gave news about the storys and news from Germany and told the public about it and then they wanted to do somthing for Germany and the people. -
Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact
Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union shocked the world by signing the Non-Aggression Pact . The Non-Aggression Pact meant that two countries agreed to take no military action against each other for the next 10 years. Hitler signed it only because he wanted to invade Poland unopposed. -
Germany Invades Poland
German forces bombard Poland on land and from the air, as Adolf Hitler seeks to regain lost territory and ultimately rule Poland. He was gonna take it by using a stragity called "blitzkrieg" witch meant that it was gonna be a quick and fast victory for them. They wanted Poland so they can have the whole county and then gain even more power. But for that it willcost him. After the Invasion on Poland the Allied Powers declared war on Germany and that would be know as WWl. -
The Phony War
French and British had mobilized their armies but both sides waited for the other to strike first. The Germans called it the "sitzkrieg" witch meant sitting war. That is also how it was called as the Phoney war back in America. But by April 9, 1940 the calm ended and Hitler striked, because of that both Denmark and Norway fell. -
Rescue at Dunkirk
When Germany forces were cornering the France and British, but the navy went and saved every troop they could. They did this because there troops were cornered and Germany would have beat them and kill most of them off. Because they sent ships and help, they were able to save some troops and stop Hitler jilling them off. -
Fall of France
France and the British had finally surrendered to Germany. Because Germany had ripped up the power in Europe and he was able to do this by focusing France and then the British would fall after words. Germany had won and made France and the British surrender. Theu surrendered in the same cart Hitler had to surrender inn in 1918. -
Battle of Britain
Hitler turned to Britain and started a battle with them, simply because he wanted power and they had just conquered France. They wanted to gain more power and this is why they took over Britain and its resources. But in the end the invasion was postpond and on 17 September, he postponed his plans. -
US Lend-Lease Program
The Lend-Lease Act was approved on March, 1941. They approved because they needed to give support around and troops as well and this is why they made this act.The effects of the Lend-Lease Act was a very good thing cause of countries getting support from others, but the British would end up fighting still and try to get the US to fight. -
Yugoslavia and Greece fall
Hitler lunches a quick bombing on Yugoslavia called Operation Castigo, it too also bombed Greece and both were very swift and brutal, an act of terror resulting in the death. Hitler did this to take control of more places and to gain as much power as possible. Because of Operation Castigo Hitler was able to take control faster and easier. -
Germany invades the Soviet Union
Germanys forces have invaded the Soviet Union and troops pushed into the USSR from the south and west, all heading twards Leningrad. Hitler attacked the Soviet Union because he wanted to centinue to gain power and expand his Nation. Germany had won by the number of Germans. -
Atlantic Charter
Roosevelt issued a new document that was not a treaty but a document saying that they will remain in peace and not allow war to be the answer. Among them,the United States and Britain agreed not to seek war. Roosevelt made this to create peace and not war but in the end it will always be war. -
Pearl Harbor
December 7, 1941 Japanese airplanes attacked Pearl Harbor and left 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors dead. The Japanese did this because of anger and they needed the oil to fight a war they couldnt win without it. The out come of this ended with Americans dead and ships destroyed and the US went and joined World War ll. -
Last stage of the "Final Solution"
On 20 January 1942, 15 leading officials met at villa to disscus the "Final Solution of the Jewish Question" and the code was to murder all the Jews of Europe in a organised and methodical way. They met up at villa because they wanted the Jews off of there earth and they wanted power. In the end they tryed to do just that. -
Holocaust
Back then a Holocaust meant burnt offerings but now the Hitler burned 6 million jews, the word "Holocaust" means the mass murder of Jews killed, because of Hitler. Hitler did this because he thought that Jews were the cause of Germanys weakness and they were the reasons why they lost wars back then that cost them so much. In the end the Nazi party killed 6 million Jews and other people like homosexuals and others that didnt agree with the Nazi Party. -
Bataan Death March
After the surrender of Bataan Peninsula there was a big great March and the Philippine and the Americans were forced to make a great 65-mile march to the prison camps. They had to march because they were on the enemy side of the Japanese and they didnt had cars or anything but they werent gonna treat them nice anyways.The commander of the Japanese invasion was soon shot and killed for commiting a War crime he had commited. -
Battle of the Coral Sea
When the fight started there was 70 Japanese and 66 American aircrafts already destroyed for the fight to end the invasion that the Japanese were trying to do. The japanese all did this outta anger and wanted surpplies from the US but the US said "no" to them and they resulted in the Pearl Harbor attack and now this invasion.The Tulagi of the Solomon Islands were soon caputered by the Japanses and add to there invasion. -
Battle of Midway
Two Japanese fighter plans crashed into two US ships and within minuets they were in fire blown up and death everywhere. They did this to weaken them and to break through the ships defensives. Never the less the US turns the tides and with the war with only 100 men dead and 130 aircrafts destroyed. -
Battle of Guadalcanal
The Japanese was building an airbase there and the Americans didnt like it and came to take it away and they landed on the island two months after the Japanese did and because of this the Japanese fought them off. The Japanese fought because they came to militarize and to gain stronger airforces. The out come of this battle is that the Japanese had lost two-thirds of the 31,400 army troops and the Americans lost 2,000 soldiers but the US won the fight and stood there ground. -
Battle of Stalingrad
The Battle of Stalingrad was a battle that the Germans started but wasnt able to finsih because of the successful Soviet defense of Stalingrad. The Germans wanted to take Stalingrad over because they wanted to gain power to edvance to the next target. In the end Germany had to stop and leave because Stalingrad defenses were to great and they turned the whole war for themselves but also Stalingrad ended in ruins but also in victory. -
Operation Torch
This Operation was to send three task forces on the beaches near Casablanca on the Moroccan Atlantic Coast. They did this operation to get ride of the French XIX Corps before the Allied landing. But it triggered the German occupation and they sent troops to capture them but to escape they went to the harbor around Toulon on November 27, 1942. By the end of it they made it to the Tunisian border in the northwest. -
Invasion of Italy
The invasion of Italy was by the Axis powers and it wasnt going to be an invasion because they had surender but they didnt get the document of surender until September 8. The invaded to stop Germany but they didnt know they had surrendered already. In the end they won and took over anyways. -
D-Day Invasion
This war determined the Nazi future and the Americans as well, there was more then 5,000 ships, 11,000 airplanes, and over 150,000 service men. This war happended to stop Germany and the Nazi Party. In the end due to the sacrifice of the Allied Forces, Fortress Europe had been breached. -
Battle of the Bulge
Three German armies lunched a deadly attack and they tried to push deeper into Ardennes in an attempt to secure bridgeheads. They did this because they wanted to gain power of what they lost long ago and regain countries to becaome a bigger Empire. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
The battle of Iwo Jima was a mission to conquer and to gain more ground and the Americans did just that. They went on the coast of Iwo Jima and took down the navy and other soldiers protecting it. In the end they conqured it and then now have a picture of the US flag being raised up. -
Battle of Okinawa
This battle was one of the biggest island battles of WWll and this is a battle between the Japanese and the Americans and the American forces wanted to take away and to stop Japan from doing another attack. They had suicide bombers and planes that did damage to navy boats of the US but in the end the US came back. They lost it and there navy surrendered and the Japanese gain some ground through air and sea. -
Germany's Unconditional Surrender
Germany finally surrendered and they had to because they were pinned down and no where to go also with no leader cause Hitler killed himself. This happend because Germany forces were to strong and they were trying to take over the world. In the end General Jodl hoped to limit the terms of there surrender by saying only bring back the ones that were in battle, but they said every troop in battle or not. -
Hiroshima - Atomic Bomb
On Augest 6, 1945 the first every atomic bomb was used on Hiroshima. The US did this to insure that they won and that they would have to surrender but the US is not mean and ruthless they told them to surrender and to leave the city but the leader didnt tell them and they all go bombed. In the end Hiroshima was destroyed. -
Nagasaki - Atomic Bomb
On this day too right after the first atomic bomb the US told them to leave but they didnt listen and they too were all bombed and killed almost in an instant of it hitting the ground. Many kids and families were killed, but the US did this to insure there surrender and to weaken them to almost nothing of ruins. In the end it was all over they had finally surrndered to the US.
