Invasion of Manchuria was an invasion by Japan's Empire on Manchuria. This causes the Mukden Incident and then leading up to war. This was important because the defeating of Japan could change the outcome on whether or not they "survive." -
Rape of Nanjing
The Rape of Nanjing started when China's capital was taken over by Japanese forces. China's resistance leads to Japan ordering the city of Nanjing to be destroyed. The city was burned and the civilians of China were being badly treated by Japan. This is what they called the Rape of Nanjing. This was important because this showed what the Japanese could do and this event lead to many deaths. -
Anschluss
Anschluss is a word meaning union or meeting. This word was used during the fusion of Austria Hungry and the Nazi's into one nation. This was important because after Hitler started to have more land and more people it would be easier for Hitler to take over. This also was one of te events leading/ causing WWII. -
Kristallnacht
Kristallnacht was an event that happened in Germany, caused by the Nazi's. The Nazi's torched/set fire to Jewish homes, schools, and killed about 100 jews. This was important because this is showing what the Nazi's are and what they can do you if don't "obey". -
Munich Pact
The Munich Pact was an agreement that prevented the Nazi's from taking over land in Czechoslovakia. After Hitler got a hold on the agreement that's when things started to go downhill. The Nazi's got land of Czechoslovakia's. This was important because this was seen by teh Allies and could lead to the Allies going agianst Germany and defeating them. -
Non - Aggression Pact
The Non-Aggression Pact would compromise whether or not to take no military actions against each other for 10 years. This was also during the time right before WWII. This was important because this was a way for countries to keep a peace fro a great amoutn of time. -
Invasion of Poland
The Invasion of Poland is an invasion on Poland by Germany. Germany bomb Poland and Hitler claimed that the invasion was by the defense. The Invasion of Poland was important because this leads to a communist government. -
Evacuation of Dunkirk
Evacuation of Dunkirk is when the German army comes through northern France which cuts of British troops from their French allies. This leads to an evacuation. This is important because many people were sasved after this and this could make a difference if France joins the war. -
Tri-Partite Agreement
The Tri-Partite Agreement was a signed agreement between Germany, Italy, and Japan. This agreement was a defensive military alliance. This was important because this gave a big advantage to all of these allies during the war. -
Lend - Lease Act
The Lend-Lease Act was a principle that meant the U.S. military would aid foreign nations at the time of World War II. This was important because this act gave an advantage of bringing the U.S. closer to the war. -
Operation Barbarossa
The Operation Barbarossa was an invasion on the Soviet Union by the Nazi's, but in the end, the Nazi's were not able to defeat the Soviet Union. This was important because Hitler was now not the strongesst army which changes the outcome of WWII. -
Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor was the U.S. naval base that was surprised attack by the Japanese. This leads to many deaths and Franklin Roosevelt declaring war the following day. This was important because this could have led to weather the U.S. joins WWII or not. -
Battle of Midway
The Battle of Midway was when the U.S. coming to surprise attack Japan that was at Midway Island. This battle occurred six months after Pearl Harbor. This was important because this event leads to the U.S. becoming moe powerful with praparation for teh war. -
D-Day Invasion
The D-Day invasion is landing operations to liberate Germany. The planning started in 1943 and was allies conducting a military to mislead the Germans from where the allies landings were.
This was important in WWII because it was a victory for the Weasturn allies. -
Liberation of Paris
This was a battle for Paris and Belguim. This started when Germany saw a threat from the military of the French. Not too long after German garrison surrendered. This was important because it was a day of hope, assurance, and succese. -
Batlle of the Bulge
The Battle of the Bulge was an attempt by Hitler in which he tried to separate the allied armies in Europe and surprising blitzkrieg. This attack was not expected and caught the allied forces off guard. This battle was mainly about Germany pushing their way up to the north sea and cutting off allied forces so they could not find Germanys coordinates. This was important because this battle could change the outcome of the war, but that's only if Germnay wins and the could negatiate. -
Surrender of Germany
The Surrender of Germany was Germany surrendering to the Allies and ending WWII. This event brought less conflict and more Allies. This was omportant becasue this is was ended most of the war. Once Hitler was gone things started to have way less conflict. -
Hiroshima/Nagasaki
Hiroshima/Nagasaki was a bomb that was dropped over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The bomb killed about 80,000 people in the city, more people died after because of the radiation. This was important because this is when Japan's Emporer surrenderd in WWII. -
Hitler's Suicide
Hitler killed himself by gunshot, he was known for being the leader of the Nazi party and chancellor of Germany. After his death, Germany's military was on the verge of falling (collapsing). This was important during WWII because Hitler was seen as this man that was "great" but after he died everyone started to realize that Hilter was not a great leader as they though he was.
