Rape of Nanking
Rape of Nanking.... or The Nanjing Massacre, was just something truly horrible and horrid caused by Japanese soldiers/troops. On the day the Japanese captured Nanjing a Chinese city, they started sprees of mass murder and mass rape against the people of Nanjing (innocent people included). This caused Japan to be more isolated then ever. -
Kristallnacht
In Germany Nazis would just "attack" Jews. The Nazis would just commit crimes towards Jews like, burning down synagogues (a house of worship), vandalizing Jewish homes, schools, businesses and killed up to 100 Jews. Also at least 30,00 Jews were sent to concentration camps. This was also called "Night of Broken Glass" -
Munich Pact
To put it simply. The Munich Pact was made by British and French prime ministers to get leaders of Czechoslovakia and Hitler to sigh the pact to literally give Hitler what he wants. Hitler wanted to be "reunited" with Czechoslovakia (because of German speaking people being there), and from what the British prime minsters words, he's letting Hitler conquest Czechoslovakia to avoid war. -
Non-Aggression Pact
Soooo... Germany (Hitler) decides to sign a Nonaggression Pact with Soviet Russia (Stalin) saying that the both of them will not fight for the next ten years. Stalin saw the pact as a way to be friendly with Germany while being able to build up their military, Hitler saw the pact as a way to invade Poland without a problem. XD Hilter is so funny. -
Invasion of Poland
German troops invaded Poland due to "defensive action", but in actuality Hitler did it for his "great plan" of making Germany great. And to do so Germans would need living space, and Hitler believed Poland was it. -
Evacuation of Dunkirk
This was the incredible evacuation of the Allied soldiers that were in Dunkirk. The Allied troops were trapped by the Germans, the troops that were trapped were hundred thousands of British soldiers. Sadly the British soldiers were killed and captured which concluded in a British loss. Which would've also caused the British to have a bigger and deeper reason to stay in the war. -
The Tripartite Pact
The pact was made by Germany, Italy, and Japan a year after WWII started. The pact allows the countries to aid each other in both military and political means... Uhm.. Later on Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, and Croatia sign the pact as well. The pact was mainly created to try and keep the U.S. from entering the war. -
Lend Lease Act
Okayy, so the reason the Lend-Lease act was for, is the security of the United States... well in the long run. It was actually made for the U.S. to be able to give Britain military aid in war knowing that Britain would have to do the same and give aid to the U.S. in return. -
Operation Barbarossa
Operation Barbarossa... originally called Operation Fritz was the code name for the invasion that Germany commenced upon The Soviet Union. Which completely went against the Nonaggression pact they signed in 1939. Okay so, while Germany and The Soviet Union were fighting, Russian winter came in earlier than normal. The winter is what caused Germany to be pushed back since The Soviets had troops specialized to fight in the winter. -
Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor was an attack that wasn't expected that wasn't expected, planned by the Japanese. It was a casual morning in Honolulu, Hawaii and hundreds of Japanese fighter planes flew over Pearl Harbor (the base) and the Japanese were able to destroy almost twenty American ships, being eight battleships and over three hundred airplanes, and more than 2,400 American casualties, and 1,000 were injured due to the attack. A day after the attack Roosevelt declared war on Japan... and joined WWII. -
Battle of Midway
The Battle of Midway was six months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. And this was a naval battle between the United States and Japan in what would be describe as the most defining battle in WWII. But the U.S. was able to counter the ambush planned by the Japanese because of advanced code breaking. And the U.S. was able to inflict a WHOLE LOTTA damage (flex tape guy) to the Japan Navy. And the United States won. Yeah. -
D-Day Invasion
Okay... So D-Day... Was a series of assaults on Germany launched by the Allied Forces. The invasion was done by the Allied Forces landing on the beaches of Normandy going at it by sea, land and air to get there and to get there and get it started. The spot that was being invaded was Normandy shores/beach of France. And this is where the fighting happened for France's "liberation". -
The Liberation of Paris
So, Paris was ruled by Nazi Germany. And the liberation started when the interior French forces, and/or the military structure of French Resistance came up with his plan as the US Third Army was arriving to Paris. The forces went up to Hotel de Ville on August 24th, and on the next morning the commander of the German garrison surrendered. -
Battle of the Bulge
This was the last major offensive attack from Germany, and also the biggesst battle that was fought on the Western Front in Europe. The German offensive was intended to split up American and British forces and for Germany to recapture the port of Antwerp. The offensive was called Operation Autumn Mist. This offensive ended badly for the Germans. -
Hitler's Sewerside
So it was said that Hitler and his wife took cyanide pills, and just in case he shot himself. He did all of this in his bunker that was made because he decided to stay in Berlin for the last siege war. Hitler was warned that the Russians were only a day-ish away from the chancellery. So he decided to commit suicide. -
Surrender of Germany
So Germany finally surrendered to the Allies bringing WWII to an end. The person to sign the surrender and to represent Germany for the signature is General Alfred Jodl. And the forces on both east and west sides of France will be retreating.. and this was a victory for the Allied powers. -
Hiroshima/Nagasaki
So... During the end of WWII The United States (with the consent needed by the United Kingdom) dropped two atomic bombs on top of Japan. The reasoning: So after Germany signing the surrender Japan was told time and time again to surrender but Japan refused. The allied powers planned an invasion on Japan that was started off by firebombing destroying 67 cities in Japan. But the alternative to commencing the invasion would've been the bombing and to end the war with complete and utter destruction.
