This war followed up right after Germany's attack on Poland. This German attacked was code named as Case Yellow and the advanced attack threatened to encircle the French and British division. -
Battle of Britain.
In this war both British and German air forces took their fights to the sky, This war was a turning point for WWII. This battle ended though when once Germanys Luftwaffe failed to gain air supiriority. -
Opperation Barbossa
During this war Hitler launched his army eatward on an invasion that covered from North Cape to the Black Sea. This war was crucial though for it's failiur caused Nazi Germany to face two face front battles. -
Pearl Harbor
This barrage lasted for two hours on pearl harbor near the bay of honolulu hawaii. More than 2,000 american soldier and sailors died that day. -
Doolittle Raid
This raid was fought by the air and lead by James Doolittle. It was a heroic attack aimed towards major cities like Japan, yokohama, tokyo, etv. -
Battle of Midway
After the attack on pearl harbor the United States defeated Japan in one of the most decisive naval battles of WWII. This victory allowed the United States and it's allies to move in the defensive position. -
Battle of El Alamein.
This battle marked the culmination of WWII. British commander Bernard launched an infantry attack on EL Alamein. The German Feild Marshall returned to the war but the British power proved too overwhelming. -
Battle of Guadalcanal
This battle was the first offensive and a deffensive battle victory for the allies, US mariens launched a surprised attack on the japanese troops that were stationed in the solomon island. -

This battle was a successful battle for the soviet defence in Stalingrad. The Russians considered it as their greatest battle of their great patriotic war. -

Opperation torch was the name given to the allied invasion of French North Africa. Opperation torch was the first time the British and Americans jointly worked together -

The battle of Kursk is known as the bigest tank fought battle. This battle resaulted in a severe crisis for Nazi's war machine in Russia. -

In this battle US and Great Britain who are the leading allied powers looked ahead to the invasions in europe and the final defete of Nazi Germany. -
D-Day. (opperation overload.)
The battle began on june 6 and was also known as opperation overload. when some 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France’s Normandy region. -
Battle of Leyte Gulf
In this battle the japanese sought to converg three naval forces on Leyte Gulf, and successfully diverted the U.S. The U.S.'s seventh fleet destroyed one of the japanese forces. -

During this time Adolf Hitler tried to split the allied forces. His way of doing this was by a surprised blitzkrieg attack. Although the allied forces were lead and their defences was crucial. -

Last and biggest of the Pacific island battles of World War II, the Okinawa campaign, this battle consisted of 287,000 troops of the US against 130,000 soldiers of the Japanese. -

The Battle for Berlin all but marked the end of World War Two in Europe. Itwas of vital importance in the European sector along with some of the other battles that were fought. -
Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
An American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. This devistating bomb killed almost 90% percent of that population. -
