    This battle was fought between July 10 and October 31, 1940. It was one of the largest aerial battles in history. This battle was fought to defend the United Kingdom from Germany.
  • The Bombing of Pearl Harbor

    The Bombing of Pearl Harbor
    The Japanese attacked the U.S. at Pearl Harbor. The Japanese did this thinking they could stop the U.S. from interfering with the plans for their military. They thought that they would be buying themselves more time. The U.S. then declared war on Japan which eventually led to WWII.

    This battle was mostly fought with aircraft. Midway was used by the US as a base when the Japanese were planning an attack in the Pacific. The consistent attacks from the US led to the Japanese retreating.

    This is known as one of the bloodiest battles in history. Stalingrad (now named Volgograd) is in present-day Russia or what was known as the Soviet Union back then. This battle was between the Germans and the Russians. The Germans' attempt to take control of Stalingrad failed.
