    The Rape of Nanking
    The Rape of Nanking was the attack on China's capital, Nanking, by Japanese forces. Japanese General Matsui Iwane commanded the fall of Nanking. The City was burned, soldiers attacked civilians. The Japanese killed around 50,000 male civilians, raped about 20,000 women including children.
  • The Munich Conference

    The Munich Conference
    The Munich conference was between Germany, Great Britain, France, and Italy. The Conference was about giving Germany the Sudetenland, in Czechoslovakia. They wanted to give Germany that land so Hitler would stop attacking another land. Although Hitler does agree to the agreement, Hitler will gain the land and then he will betray the agreement. This will then cause Hitler to keep gaining the power to start the war.
  • Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact

    Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact
    The Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact was proposed by Hitler saying that both countries, Germany and Russia, would commit to a non-aggression pact that would last 100 years. The proposal stated that neither country would aid the enemy if the enemy attacked theirs or the other's country. The Pact also had a secret agreement which was about dividing Europe after the Invasion of Poland.

    After the Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact, Germany faked an alert that Poland is going to attack Germany. The Germans used this staged act to be able to invade Poland. They invaded Poland with 53 divisions and 1,600 aircraft. They used tanks, artillery, and airstrikes to force Poles to retreat.

    The Battle of the Atlantic was significant because it was a battle where the germans ships attacked American and Britain Passengers. Germany was using submarine warfare, which all nations did not want because it would affect national trade.
  • Operation Barbarosa

    Operation Barbarosa
    Operation Barbarossa was an invasion of the Soviet Union, it was led by Adolf Hitler. Hitler wanted to expand to the east and to create more "living space" for the German people. This would mean that Hitler would have to conquer the Soviet Union. Operation Barbarossa had the biggest military invasion in history. Germany would invade Moscow, Ukraine, Leningrad. This would lead to an attack on Moscow.
  • Pearl Harbor

    As Japanese forces were occupying the French Indo-China, The Allies and US stopped all trade with French Indo-China. the Japanese started to militarize airforces to attack the Americans Oil and resources. The Japanese then destroyed and killed the American fleet at Pearl Harbor. They sent 6 carriers with over 400 planes. It was sent in 2 waves of attacks, in the first wave 8 battleships were destroyed and 10 ships were destroyed or heavily damaged. The United States declared war on Japan.
  • Kamikaze

    Kamikaze
    Kamikaze is trained and loyal Japanese soldiers who would give up their life for Japan through suicidal means. Kamikaze was used to attack Pearl Harbor which they killed at least 30 American crew members.
  • Battle of Alamein

    Battle of Alamein
    As German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel was able to make the British army retreat, the British army left behind a multitude of supplies. The supplies left behind greatly helped Rommel's army recuperate and to push the British into Egypt. The allies were reinforced with American supplies which helped reorganize and bring back the British Army. British, Indian, South African, and New Zealand troops helped battle Rommel and his exhausted army, leading to a turning point for the Allies.
  • The Battle of Stalingrad

    The Battle of Stalingrad
    As Hitler was going to capture Moscow, the Soviet counter was able to drive back the German soldiers. Although Hitler did not stop and went to capture Volga, which was near the city of Stalingrad. The Soviets then reinforced Stalingrad and fought in the winter. The Soviets were able to defend their land and this battle also caused Hitler to lose over 300,000 men.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    D-Day was the Allied power's battle to get back northern France from Germany was occupying that land. The Allied powers were thinking of an Allied attack. Hitler was aware of this attack so he put Erwin Rommel in charge of the battle, even though Hitler didn't know where the actual attack would've taken place. General Dwight Eisenhower tricked Germany into thinking the Allied attack would be at Pas De Calais. On June 6, 1944, was the actual attack, which was an important day for fallen soldiers.
  • Strategic Bombing

    Strategic Bombing
    Strategic bombing was using bombs, by air, to attack a countries ability to wage war. Bombs were used to strike fear in the people's hearts and to encourage them to back down. If a country did not back down then most likely it would be used to bomb the nation to not be able to wage war. This strategic bombing was used in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
  • Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    These events of the bombing were horrible but nonetheless, leaders saw it as fit but never to be used weapon again. Hiroshima was bombed by the atomic bomb U-235. This instantly killed 70, 000 people, and those who were still alive were injured, missing a limb or more, or their genes were mutated due to exposure to high amounts of Radiation. The use of Atomic bombs was then to be used as a last choice.
