The significance of this was this was when Manchuria was invaded by the Kwantung Army of the Empire of Japan right after the Mukden Incident. The Japanese created Manchukuo which was a puppet state and this lasted until the end of World War II. -

The significance was that this was specifically to exclude the Soviet Union that the three nations agreed upon for the next 10 years. It was established by the Axis powers of WWII. -

The significance was that this failure led to Hitler's demands for future operations in the USSR to occupy the Soviet territory. It was the largest military operation in history in manpower and casualities. -

The significance was that this was a complete shock to the Americans and led America directly into Worls War II. The next day, The U.S. declared war on Japan. -

The significance was that it left many German units depleted and there were 610,000 men committed and 89,000 casualtires for the Americans. It was the largest and bloodiest battle that was fought in Waorl War II. -

The significance was that everyone agreed European countries and the Axis could create democratic institutions of their own choice and the right of all people to choose the form of government under where they live. They also agreed on free elections. -

The signficance was that this was known as the Victory in Europe Day. The legal instrument of surrender established the armistice which ended World War II in Europe. -
Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
The significance was that these bombings killed 90,000-166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000-80,000 in Nagasaki. Six days after the bombing, Japan surrendered to the Allies which officially ended WWII. -
