Japan captured the former Chinese imperial capital of Beijing after instigating the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, which culminated in the Japanese campaign to invade all of China.
This was advantegous to the Axis powers because they conquered new lands and forces the Allies to spread their forces.

U.S. renounces trade treaty with Japan in 1939 and put an aviation gasoline ban into place, putting Japan under enormous economic pressure.
Major Advantage to Allies by making Japan desparate for resources because Japan was so heavily dependent on oil from the U.S. and causing them to attack China with a lower victory chance.

Battle of Britain 1
Now that Germany had captured Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France its next objective was to force the United Kingdom to surrender. Hitler’s strategy in doing so was to launch a major offensive into Britain, by first breaking down their air defence through relentless air force bombing campaign. Germany then planned to follow up with an amphibious invasion after crippling UK’s air defence. However, the British air force defeated the German air force.
