Japan invaded Manchuria without declaration of war which breached the rules of the League of Nations. Japan also had a highly developed industry, but the land was scarce of natural resources. -

Japan had originally joined to League of Nations because it had planned to maintain accommodation with the Western powers in an effort to compromise. -

The Czech gov't had wanted to attempt to appease Hitler, whether it took dissolving the Communist Party or suspending all Jewish Teachers in ethnic-German majority schools. Hitler made it clear that he intended to force the central Czechoslovakia gov't to give Slovakia its independence. -
