    *Germany begins enforcing racial policies
    *Jews had to wear white armbands with blue Stars of David
    *Expelled 1000s of Poles and replace them with Germans

    • the German blockade failed but at great cost 3,500 merchant ships and 175 warships were sunk in the Atlantic for the loss of 783 U-boats and 47 German surface warships, including 4 battleships

    • Soviet troops in winter gear supported by tanks take on the Germans in the counterattack.
    • Axis forces invaded the Soviet Union, destroyed most of the Soviet Air Force on the ground,
    • and advanced deep into Soviet territory using blitzkrieg tactics to destroy entire Soviet armies
    • the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany where involved in this war

  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    took place on 12-7-1941
    • a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service upon the United States against the naval base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu
    • this sparked the US to start the great production and it showed the real power of us
    • 2,000 us soldiers died
    • It lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes
    • The U.S. and Japan where involved in this battle

    • Navel battle and was fought with mostly aircrafts
    • the U.S. Navy and the Imperial Japanese Navy
    • apan hoped to defeat the US Pacific Fleet and use Midway as a base to attack Pearl Harbor, securing dominance in the region and then forcing a negotiated peace.

    • Took place in Normandy
    • Took place from 6 June- 30 August (2 months, 3 weeks and 3 days)

    • this battle was the last big battle in Europe during World War II. It resulted in the surrender of the German army and an end to Adolf Hitler’s rule

    • this ended up in Hitler committing suidside
