    Germany invaded Poland by surprise and they are quickly defeated. Hitler made the non-aggression pact with Stalin and they agree to not attack each other. This allowed Germany to not have to fight a two front war. This gave Hitler a chance to invade the Soviet Union.

    September 3rd, France and Britain declare war on Germany. The Fall of France happened when Hitler invaded through Belgium. He did this in May and by June Hitler controls France. This was called the Phony War

    Hitler's plan to soften Britain for invasion. Germany bombed Britain for 11 months. The bombing was unsuccessful and after the 11 months Hitler called it off. It was seen as the first major "win" for the allies.

    The Lend-Lease Act was America's way of helping foreign countries during WWII. U.S. gave Britain war supplies and old naval warships. We did this because Britain gave us military bases in Bermuda and the Caribbean.

    Franklin Roosevelt declared that December 7,1941 will be a day which will live in infamy. Germany declares war on the United States and soon after the U.S. declares war on Japan and Germany. Pearl Harbor was the main reason why America joined WWII.

    The Bataan Death March was the forcible transfer by the Imperial Japanese Army. 60,000–80,000 Filipino and American prisoners of war from Saysain Point, Bagac, Bataan and Mariveles were moved to Camp O'Donnell and other camps. Prisoners were loaded onto trains.

    America nuked these two major Japanese cities in 1945. This forced Japan to surrender and bring an end to World War II. The nukes killed many people and left cities radiated for years.
