  • Operation Torch

    The Operation Torch included the Vichy France and Germany axis and U.S and British allies. The axis lost 1346 men and 1997 men were wounded. The allied lost about 479 men and about 720 wounded.
  • Tunisia Campaign

    The Tunisia campaign started in eastern Tunisia on January 5, 1943 and attacked German positions at Gafsa in west central Tunisia on March 17 1943. On February 4, 1943 the British Eighth Army was forced to cross the border from Libya to Tanisha on May 7th. Eventually the U.S. and British cut Germany from supply base because they felt like the Germans couldn’t be trusted.

    Erwin Rommel was active during 1891-1944, and was a Veteran of WWI. After Hitler became Chancellor, he noticed Rommel skills. Hitler put Rommel in charge of the Africa Corps in 1941. Rommel became “famous” in North Africa, and was given the name “Desert Fox” by British soldiers. Rommel Rising was put in charge of the Atlantic Wall defenses in 1943, and Normandy beaches had scattered traps set by Rommel.
