In the mid 1930’s Germany began a massive rearmament program. They went from the 6 warships they were allowed in the Versailles Treaty to 95 and from a 100,000 man army to nearly 10 times that. Hitler moved in with forces into Rhineland, a demilitarized zone which violated the treaty. -
