Adolf Hitler Kills Himself
Aldof Hitler swallowed a cyanide pill, then shot himself, along with his wife, in an underground bunker before the end of the war. Hitler had been the person who had comanded the death of millions of Jews, with no mercy. His body was discovered in parts by Russian soldiers. -

The holocaust was a horrific event, that caused the slaughter of millions of Jews. Gas chamber, shooting, and electrification were just some of the ways that the innocent jews were killed. Many surviving Jews went to Georgia after the was, causing Georgians to rethink how they treated minorities. -
Bomb Dropped on Hiroshima
Approximately 80,000 people are killed as a direct result of the blast, and another 35,000 are injured. The bomb was dropped as a warning to Japan, and as motivation to get them to surrender. The US threatened another attack if Japan did not surrender. -
Bomb Dropped on Nagasaki
Only three days ofter the attack on Hiroshima, another bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. An etimated 60,000 to 80,000 people were killed. This bomb resulted in the Japanese surendering, and the end of the war in Japan. -

The lend-lease program was started to help the US' allies, and supply them with the necisary weapons and trasportation they needed. -
United Nations Formed
First starting when several countrys joined together to create an alliance, the United Nations wouldn't become offical until 1945. There was originally 51 countries who were part of the UN. United Nations day is celebrated on the 24 of October every year.
