Germany surrenders
When the Soviets invaded Berlin in the Battlle of Berlin, Hitler realized that he was doomed, so he commited suicide with his wife Eva Braun and ordered that his body be burned. -
Allies use atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Albert Einstein and Robert Oppenheimer worked together to develop the atomic bomb by splitting atoms. Harry S. Truman sent a letter to Japan that said if they did not surrender the US would drop this bomb on this. Japan did not respond so we dropped the bomb over Hiroshima. There was no response so we dropped another bomb on Nagasaki. -
United Nations formed
After the world saw how much destruction was caused by the atomic bomb, the United Nations was formed in order to try and prevent countries from using these bombs int the future and to try and create alternative descisions from war.
