This operation meant that Germans was going to attack the Soviet Union by surprise so they have more territory. The German troops were not given the necessary clothing for the temperature so they had big difficulties with that.

Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The United States immediately declared war on Japan. This caused that later on the United States bombed Hiroshima, Japan.
