US Oil Embargo on Japan
The United States threatened to take Japans oil away if they didn't back out of the war. The Japanese thought we were bluffing and we ended up actually taking away their oil. -

The Japanese wanted to take over the Pacific Ocean and gain resources. They wanted to take over the Pacific Ocean by taking over the Midway island. -
Battle of Stalingrad
The Germans tried to invade the U.S.S.R but failed when it became winter. The Soviet's had more winter protection and so the Germans ended up surrendering. -
D-Day
This is when the Allied forces invaded Europe to try to take Europe back. They were deployed on the beaches of Normandy. Some of the tanks sunk in the ocean and therefore the troops were left with little to no cover. It was one of the bloodiest battles in history. -
The Yalta Conference
This was the meeting after the war to discuss the reorganization of Europe. All the heads of the government were in the meeting. -
V-E Day
This is called the victory in Europe day. This is when the Allied successfully took back Europe and defeated the Germans. -
Atomic Bomb dropped on Hiroshima
This is when the Japanese wouldn't give up after the war had basically already been won by the Allies. The Allied forces threatened to drop the bombs on Japan if they didn't surrender. The Japanese didn't surrender so we dropped the bomb -

The Allied forces bombed Nagasaki after Hiroshima because the Japanese wouldn't surrender. They surrendered after the second bomb.
