The Nazi invasion is also called "September Campaign". The Polish army was defeated ny the German soldiers within weeks of the invasion. The German units had more than 2000 tanks and 1000 planes to break through the Polish defenses. -
Holocaust
The Holocaust was the killings of millions of Jews and others during the war. There were as many camps including the most known, Auschwitz.
The death toll at Auschwitz is 1.1 million. -
Battle of Matapan
This battle was a naval battle fought between March 27-29 1941. The opening of the battle s known in Italy as "The Battle of Guado". -
Pearl Harbor
The base was attacked by over 300 Japanese fighters, bombers, and torpedo planes. Four U.S Navy battleships sunk (but two werwe raised and were during the war). 2, 402 men were killed, and 1,282 were wounded. Soon after the attack, the U.S declared war on Japan. -
Battle of Midway
The Battle of Midway was between the U.S and Japan. Japan made a plan to put the last of U.S aircrafts in a trap, but American codebreakers were able to get the date and time of when the attack was to happen. Therefore, the U.S. was ready and prepared for what was to come (they created an ambush of their own for the Japanese). -

This was the attempt to kill Hitler. -

D-Day is the term used for the landing in Normndy. -
