Germany's Anschluss with Austria

The Munich Pact
~It turned Sudetenland over to Germany without a single shot being fired.

The Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact
~Hitler and Stalin agreed to not attack each other.
~Hitler and Stalin also agreed to secretly divide Poland without Poland's knowledge to this plan. -

~The war method used was Blitzkrieg which means, "lightening war."
~German air force bombed Poland from the air while tanks went through the streets.
~This is considered the first event and the beginning of WWII. -

~Britain and France sat on teh Maginot Line while Germany sat on the Siegfried Line.
~The result was a Sitzkrieg or "sitting war."
~However it did end on April 9, 1940 when Hitler launched a surprise attack of Denmark and Norway. -
The miracle at Dunkirk.
~Germany soldiers trapped French and British soldiers on the beach of Dunkirk.
~Operation Dynamo was the plan to evacuate the most soldiers possible.
~Small ships transfered the soldiers to larger ones who were then taken to a port in Britain. -
The fall of France
~Italy entered on Germany's side and invaded France from the South.
~France signed Hitler's terms of surrender; Germany occupy the Nothern part of France an Nazi controlled puppet government in South. -
The Battle of Britain
took place between August and September of 1940
~The Germans began to assemble an invasion fleet along the French coast along with an air war at the same time.
~The goal was to gain contol of the skies by destroying Britain's Royal Air Force.
~The Battle raged through summer and fall.
~It was ended on September 15, 1940 when Brittish shot down 185 German planes and Hitler called off the invasion.
