Germany signs a non-agression pact with Poland in the year 1934. In 1939, Germany invaded Poland, and deafeted the Poland army in a few weeks. On September 27, 1939, Warsaw surrendered to Germany. Germany and Russia split Poland. The significance of this was that it started World War II. The outcome of this was that Poland was deafeted, and Germany was seen as a threat. -

Battle of Britain
The Battle of Britain was a battle between the British Royal Air Force and the German Luftwaffe. Britain was the only country left to stand against the Nazi army. The Germans waited through most of July waiting for the surrender of Britain. This was the first all-air battle in history. The Germans bombed Britain, and between August 13-15, Luffwaffe started attacking the RAF air bases. The Germans started a massive bombing of London. The first air strike was successful, but the second failed. -

Germany and the Axis allies began an invasion of Russia. 4.5 million german troops were launched in a surprise attack. This broke the non-agression pact Germany made with Russia. This was significant because it made Russia join the side of the Allies to fight Germany. -

Germany saw that capturing Moscow would help them succeed with Operation Barbossa. Hitler belived that if he captured Moscow, all of Russia would collapse. 28 Russian divisions were lost in only 3 weeks. The significance of this was that Russia was able to push Germany out of Russia. -

The battle of Stalingrad was the turning point of World War II. Germany was deafeted in Russia, and was forced to retreat. The germans wanted to secure the oil feilds from the russians. The American troops were able to hold back the germans long enough for reinforcements to arrive. The significance of this is that Gemany lost over 100,000 soldiers. -

The battle of Berlin marked the end of World War II. The battle of Berlin was a very important for the Europeans. The red army was pushing accross Poland. They outnumbered the German forces and equiptment. The Russian forces stormed Berlin, using men and tanks. The Russians defeated the german forces. This was significant becuas the russians were able to get nuclear information that the Germans had. -

Hiroshima/Nagasaki - Japan
The atomic bombing of hiroshima and nagasaki killed tens of thousands of people, and flattened the cities. This was a stealth mission, but they sent a warning to the japanese 4 days before the bombing happened. This was significant because it let the Americans join in the wars in Europe.
