Austria decided to declare war on Serbia, thinking they sent the assassins to murder the arch duke. So with any thinking Austria sent troops to invade Serbia, but than Serbia called for help ( from there aliies), And from there it led to a disaster. -
First use of gas as a weapon by the germans
The germans were known for having unusual weapons and gases and etc. but there most known weapons are probably the U boat, deadly gases, torpedos, machine guns, and tanks. the germans knew if they used these that know other nation would have a chance. -
sinking of the Lusitania
The Lusitania was a British passenger ship, that the germans sunk cause they believed that it was caring weapons ( it was) but the British denied it every time, At least 1,000 people died and 128 of them were americans. -
Wilson reelected; pledged American neutrality
When President Wilson was reelected in 1916 he pledged to being neutral in the war and to help both side, but that backfired cause the germans found out about the U.S helping Britain and than Britain found out about the U.S helping Germany and etc. -
Zimmermann Note
The Zimmermann note was a secret telegram sent by the germans, It was an alliance with Mexico they made this only cause the United states had entered the war, When great Britain heard they told the U.S and they were so angered by this which than led to german immigrants leaving the country. -
U.S declares war
The zimmermanns note and other occurring events led to the U.S entering the war, They had enough of there Allies calling for help ad hearing about all of this violent actions, final Wilson's sent his trops to join and fight. -
Bolsheviks led by Lenin overthrow the Russian government
the Russian government had grown very weak with shortage of food and supplies, and there czar giving up and quitting, this was an opportunity to strike the bolsheviks decided to overthrow the the Russian government, they ended up overthrowing the government with there treaty they made it a communist nation, And it stated in the treaty that they must withdraw some land which allowed german troops to move closer which led to Russia quitting the war. -

Germany was in struggle to hold up a fight they were still at the western front, other nations had suffered defeat and had either quit or been overthrown.the war ended mostly on nations breaking apart or empires going down hill or protest but some just decided to leave for the sake of it. In the end of it all Austria-hungry had surrendered to the allied powers. -
Treaty of Versailles
The war officially ended by the treaty of Versailles, it made Germany withdraw from the war which then led to peace,but the treaty still had to be signed by the germans, overall the germans had to withdraw all war force and tell them to stand down. which than led to the end of the great war
