There are two different reasons why people think Hitler orders an attack on Stalingrad from a strategic point of view it would have been unwise to have left a major city unconquered in your rear as he advanced. Some historians think that Hitler did it simply because of the name of the city and the hatred of Joseph Stalin. -
Hiroshima and Nagasaki
The United States detonated two nuclear weapons over Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Respectively with the consent of the United Kingdom as required by the Quebec Agreement. The two bombing killed 129,000 and 226,000 people most of whom were civilians.
