This was the signing of a treaty between Germany and Itlay. This was known as the Rome-Berlin Axis. This treaty had many protocols between Germany and Italy. -

Germany and Japan sign the Anti-Comitern Pact. This makes them allies. This pact was first directed against the Soviet Union. -

On this day, 3 million Allied soldiers landed in Normandy. This was the beggining of the turn around of World War Two. Also, Germans were expectiing an attack somewhere else which made this even more of a suprise. -

Franklin Roosevelt died during the war. He died of a cerebral hemorage. His death was in Warm Springs, Georgia. -
Final offense of Berlin
The Soviets soon came into action. On April 16, 1945 they encircled Berlin, Germany. This showed a sure defeat of Hitler. -
Hitlers Death
Hitler was surrounded in a bunker in Berlin at this time. He knew there was no hope. So, he decided to commit suicide as to not accept his defeat. -
Official End
This was the date that Europe celebrated as the end of World War Two. This is known as VE Day, or Victory Day. This was the unconditional surrender of the Axis powers. -
Hiroshima
Hiroshima was the first atomic bomb that was decided to be used. It killed about 70,000 people instantly. Then, around 135,000 from radiation and long term effects. -
Nagasaki
The second atomic bomb was in Nagasaki. killing an estimated 75,000 people it was the second most effective atomic bomb. This crushed Japanese hopes of a victory.
