  • Japan invades china

    The empire of Japans had an military called the Kwantung Army.This army invaded Manchuria in china. This happended very soon after the Mukden incident. When the Japanese invaded this part of china they kept it as one of there states until the end of the war. They named this Manchukuo.
  • The Holocaust

    The Holocaust in hebrew was called "shoah". The Holocaust was genocide of almost six million jewish people. This was all under the power of Adolf Hitler. Jews were sent to places called concentration camps. Although mostly jewish people recieved the punishment, there were also gypsies, homosexuals, communists, soviet POW's, and the phisically/mentally disabled.
  • The Munich Conference

    This was an area allowing the nazi's to annex portions of czechoslovakia along the borders mostly around areas of german speakers. The conference was held in Munich, germany. this is why it is known as the "Munich Conference".
  • Non-Agression Pact

    This pact was taken place because Hitler was invading many places. while Hitler was invading these places he was breaking the rules of another pact. So the Non-Agression Pact was put into place by the Germans and Soviets to keep the both of them away from war with each other for 10 years.
  • Blitzkrieg

    Blitzkrieg is a type of warfare where a military is loaded with lots of airsupport and tank infantry. This type of warfare consists of many quick, powerful attacks. Once the forces reach the enemy lines, the soldiers are to encircle the enemy and finish them. During this time, there was lots of advancing in military technologies. Since this was happening blitzkriegs were able to happen.
  • Germany Invades poland

    The invasion of Poland by Germany was also called the "September Campaign". It was also called the "1939 Defensive War". This invasiion began on September 1, 1939 and ended on October 6. This invasion ended with Germany and the Soviet Union dividing up Poland for themselves.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    Operation barbarossa was a code name for the Germans invading the Soviets. Over the time of this operation around four million soldiers of the axis powers invaded the USSR. This was the Largest Invasion in the history of warfare. This invasion was so large that it consisted of about 600,000 motor vehicles and around 625,000 horses.
  • The Battle of Britain

    The Battle of Britain was a large amount of dogfighting that took place in the air fying over the skies of the united kingdom. The two countrys fighting in the battle were Britain and Germany. This battle took place during the summer and fall of 1940. Germany's goal during this battle was to gain as much air superiority as possible.
  • Lend-Lease Act

    The Lend-Lease Act was established on March 11, 1941. This was put in place for America to supply for France, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union. Approximately $50 Billion in supply's for the war were shipped to these countrys to help win the war. $50 Billion during that time is around $656 Billion in todays money.
  • Pearl Harbor

    This is a harbor located in Oahu, Hawaii. Most of this harbor consisted of United States Navy deep-water naval base. This harbor was also HQ for the US Pacific Fleet. The attack happened on Sunday December 7, 1941. On this day the Empire of Japan viscously bombed this navy base and brought America into World War 2.
  • Wannsee Conference

    The Wannsee Conference was a meeting of many Official Nazi's in Germany. It took place in a Berlin on January 20, 1942.This conference decided how the Nazi's were going to round up the Jews and capture them. They jews were to be rounded up from the West to the East; Once they were captured they were to be sent to Consentration camps for extirmination.
  • Bataan Death March

    The Bataan Death March began on April 9, 1942. This was a movement of American and Filipino Prisoners of war. The prisioners were being held by the Empire of Japan and were unable to leave ever.The Movement was from Bataan, to Mariveles, to San Fernando, to Pampanga. During this travel the Empire of Japan decided to terminate all the prisoners before making it to their destination.
  • Battle of Midway

    This battle was one of the most important naval battles fought in World War 2. This battle took place only 6 months after the bombing on Pear Harbor. America took on The Empire of Japan during this battle and it worked out in Americas favor. This battle was Japans first defeat in their navy since the Battle of Shimonoseki Straits.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    This battle started August 23, 1942 and lasted until February 2, 1943. This was one of the major battles fought in World War 2 in which Germany Fought with its allies against the Soviet union to take control of Stalingrad. This battle is claimed to be the bloodiest battle fought in World War 2.
  • D-Day

    D-Day was an invasion of the beaches of Normandy, France. American and British soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy in hoped to take this back from the germans. This battle was the biggest ocean invasion in history. The beach that was being invaded was a 50 mile long stretch across the coast of the beach.
  • Battle of The Bulge

    This battle lasted from December 16, 1944 to January 25, 1945.This battle was a major offensive campaign for Germany. This battle was a suprise attack of the Allied forces. This suprise attack caught the allies completley off guard and americans faced the highest casualties during the war in this battle.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    This battle lasted form Februrary 19, 1945 until March 26, 1945.In the Battle the Armed forces of America fought against The Empire of Japan to take control of the island Iwo Jimo. America wanted to take this entire island so it could gain its three airfields and provide a staging area for attacks on the Japanese.
  • Battle of Okinawa

    This battle lasted from April 1, 1945 and lasted until June 22, 1945. This battle was also codenamed the Operation Iceberg. This battle took place while island hopping around Japan. the island was heavily assualted by many armored vehicles and Allied ships. There was an estimated total of over 65,000 casualties during this war.
  • V-E Day

    V-E stands for Victory in Europe. so V-E day stands for the day that the allied forces won the battles in victory against the germans. This day was later on turned into a public holiday and celebrated on the day it happened May 8.This day marked the end of World War 2 in all of Europe and soon Europe will start to look normal again.
  • The Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    The War in Europe had been ended with the Nazi germany's surrender and treaty. Although the Japanese had refused to accept the allied forces demand for them to surrender. in August of 1945 The Manhattan Project Successfully created and exploeded an Atomic bomb on both Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end the conflict.
  • V-J Day

    V-J Day is the day when The U.S gains Victory over the Japanese. On August 15, 1945 the Japanese had claimed that they had surrendered, But it wasn't until Septempber 2, 1945 that the surrendering document was signed. The Allied forces named this day V-J day after they named V-E day after the Victory in Europe.
  • Warsaw Pact

    The warsaw pact was initially a treaty of friendship, Mutual assistance, and cooperation. It was a treaty that was among around 8 communist nations in Central and and Eastern Europe areas during the cold war. This lasted until July 1, 1991.
