    Adolf Hitler was a member the Nation Socialist German Workers Party(NSDAP) or Nazi. He came to power in 1933 and became Führer in 1934.

    Kristallnacht
    Kristallnacht was a night when the Germans burned down Synagogues, Jewish houses, schools, and businesses. This resulted in the death of around 100 Jews. Also, 30,000 Jews were arrested and taken to concentration camps. This night is also referred to as the Night of Broken Glass.

    The Manhattan Project
    The Manhattan Project was an effort to make an atomic weapon in order to win World War 2. The U.S. gathered all of the best scientists from around the world to do research. The project was started due to the Germans making a nuclear weapon. This eventually led to the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki which ended World War 2.

    On September 1, 1939, The German Reich invaded Poland. In response to Germany's aggression, Britain and France declare war on Germany marking the beginning of World War 2.

    Auschwitz was the largest Nazi death camps. It was located in southern Poland. Jews and other Nazi enemies were used for slave labor and executed in gas chambers. Over 1.1 million people were killed in Auschwitz.
  • The Battle of Britain

    The Battle of Britain
    The first step of taking Britain was winning air superiority. The Germans started bombing major cities and airfields. This killed many civilians and other non-combatants. Once the RAF regrouped and repaired the airfields they fought back. The British had the advantage of radar and other technology to see the attacks before they happened and react accordingly. The Britsh air force beat back the German air force and crippled it preventing an invasion of Britain ever happening.

    The Attack on Pearl Harbor
    The Attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise air raid on an American naval base in Hawaii by the Japanese. 2,500 Americans were killed and many ships and equipment were destroyed. This attack forced America to join the war.

    The Navajo was a tribe of Native Americans with an extremely complex language. The Navajo were used for sending orders and information to help the Americans in World War 2. The Japanese were never able to crack their code.
  • Japanese Internment

    Japanese Internment
    Japanese Internment camps were created by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1942. His executive order 9066 stated that anyone of Japanese descent living on the Pacific Coast be moved into these camps.
  • The Battle of Stalingrad

    The Battle of Stalingrad
    The German Army need to take Stalingrad in order to gain access to the Caucasus which was the Soviet Union's oil supply. They decimated the city and then sent in troops. The remaining Russian soldiers fought in buildings and sewers. This Guerilla type fight took a toll on the Germans. Eventually, the Germans were encircled and the Entire German 6th army was wiped out. This was one of the worst defeats of the Wehrmacht during the war. The Soviets Counter attacked all the way to Berlin.

    D-Day
    Operation Overlord aka D-Day was the Allies attempt to make a landing on mainland Europe and turn the tide of the war. There were five landing beaches- Sword, Juno, Gold, Utah, and Omaha beach. Omaha was where the most intense fighting occurred. It was overall a success and the landing led to the liberation of France.

    The Yalta Conference was a meeting between the "Big 3" which was America, Britain, and Soviet Russia. They discussed how post-war Europe and Japan would look and settled on peace requirements.
