The European War was a long war, it lasted from 1939 to 1945. Canada freed the Netherlands from the Nazis but there's about 7600 dead/wounded. Canada gave food to the Dutch people and they were so happy that they threw flowers to the Canadian soldiers. This war ended in 1945 since the Germany surrendered. -

The Battle of Atlantic was starting from 1939 to 1945 when Canadian ships sent supply ships to Britain. The Germans used the U-boats to sink supply ships while the Canadians used the corvettes (small gun ship) to protect the convoy (supply ship). Canada helped a lot on supporting Britain in this war and safely escorted 25,000 merchant ships to Britain. -

The Battle of Britain was a air battle which involves Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany. The Battle of Britain is a air battle which has many air forces. 25% of the pilots in the Royal Air Force (RAF) that defeated the Germans Air Force were Canadians. Canadians fighters helped a lot in this air battlel, 3000 Nazi planes were shot down and so Germany couldn't invade Britain. -

The Pacific War was a war against the Japanese, the Japanese wants more territory such as the southern Thailand, China, and other islands. There are many forces in the war like the Chinese Canadian commando unit 136, those units are used to sabotage Japanes war effort by destroying Japanese weapons and railways. This war lasted for a long time and it ended because of the atomic bombs that bombed Japan and Japan surrendered. -

Battle of Hong KongThe was when Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour and trying to grab Hong Kong from the British Colony. Canadian soldiers helped in the war but it was unsuccessful due to the inexperience soldiers and also because the Japanese had better weapons. -

Battle of Dieppe
The Battle of Dieppe is when the allies launched a major raid on French coast port of Dieppe. The allies tried to scare the Germans but it failed at last. There are 900 Canadians died, 1000 wounded, and 1900 became prisoners of Germany. They lost the battle so badly and so they had learnt a lot from it and would not make the same mistake again. -

The Battle of Italy was a invasion in Italy. This war involved countries like Canada, United States, Germany, and Italy. The defence in Italy was tought since they put the guns on top of their buildings and it's hard to travel through. Canadians helped to hold the town Ortona, they take the streets and houses by "mouse-holing"--- they bombed the walls of the houses and travel from house to house. -
Invasion of Normandy (D-Day)
Invasion of Normandy was when the allies like Canada, United States, and France invaded from the Juno beach, trying to take back the German's land. Since the Canadian soldiers learnt the lesson from the Battle of Dieppe, they made a huge improvement and were the most successful at Juno beach.
