Germany's leader, Adolf Hitler, tied to gain lost land from WW1. German forces comes and bumbards Poland from the air and the ground. It was the start of Hitler's plan blitzkrieg. The Soviet Union was also part of the invasion. They had helped the Germans fight and gained land.

On this date, America was shaken so quickly. Japanese forces had destroyed 20 ships and 300 planes. 2000 U.S. soldiers were killed in the attack. F.D.R had immediatly declared war on Japan. America had officialy joined World War 2.

The Battle of the Buldge is the largest battle faught on the western front and is the biggest battle fougth with the U.S. Navy. The allied line had made a buldge, that is where the name of the battle comes from. The goal for the german forces was to split the allied forces.
