All the liberty ships like the SS. John Brown which were a class of cargo ship that was developed to meet British orders for transports to replace ships that had been lost in the war, we had mainly built these ships as a way to help out England without entering the War but the production of Liberty Ships still continued throughout the entire duration of the war, only 4 survived out of the 2,710 produced -
Aircraft Carriers
We had started WW2 with only 3 aircraft carriers and ended the war with 40, we had also used them in basically every battle involving the Pacific to gain Sea and Air superiority over the Japanese -
Lend Lease Act
The act authorized the president to transfer arms or any other defense materials to “the government of any country whose defense the President deems vital to the defense of the United States.” Britain, the Soviet Union, China, Brazil, and many other countries received weapons under this law. -
War Bonds
This is when they started in WW2, the point of war bonds is to fund the military in times of war, they needed this because they just got out of the depression so they needed money to be able to stay in the war -
Pearl Harbor
This is when Japan launched a surprise air raid on the U.S military base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, their goal was to destroy the Navy stationed there that way Japan could have free reign in that area of the sea -
Rationing
This was when the Rationing System was established after Pearl Harbor and it was created to help distribute food/supplies more equally among citizens because of the high demand of goods and low supply due to the depression, this made it so people could only buy so much of something to prevent 1 person from buying the whole stock to allow everyone to get some basically -
The Final Solution
This was the Nazi plan for the genocide of Jews during WW2 agreed on at the Wannsee Conference between all the 15 senior officials of the Nazi Party, this was the code name for the murder of all Jews within reach and the way they went about doing it was in the various death camps across Europe -
Internment
After Pearl Harbor happened Executive Order 9066 was issued by Roosevelt that relocated all Japanese Americans into concentration camps that were set up because of precaution of potential spies and racism during those times -
The Bataan Death March (Japanese Atrocities)
After the U.S surrender in the Philippines about 1,200 U.S and Filipino prisoners were forced to march 65 miles from Mariveles to San Fernando, they had to keep moving in the blazing heat with no food, water, rest, etc because otherwise you'd be killed and left on the side of the road as a example for others to see, only about 200 had survived the deadly march -
Doolittle's Raid
The first air operation by the U.S to strike the Japanese Home Islands. It demonstrated that the Japanese mainland was vulnerable to American air attack but it was mainly retaliation for the attack on Pearl Harbor, it was a boost to American morale as well -
Battle of the Coral Sea
This ended in a draw between Japan and the United States, this was the first battle against Japan and it was the first time they had been stopped since their conquest had started to capture more territory, it showed that they could be defeated which boosted morale -
Battle of Midway
it went from the 4th and ended on the 7th, this was our first victory in the Pacific and we had dealt a great blow to the Japanese military since every ship they lost was irreplaceable due to a lack of resources while we would replace ours with upgraded versions -
Guadalcanal Campaign
This was a 6 month long 'battle' starting in 8-7-42 and ending on 2-9-43 and the goal was to deny Japan the ability to threaten Allied supply and communication routes between the US, Australia, and New Zealand and this also prevented Japan from being able to get access to any of these routes, Marines landed and were left on the island to survive by themselves after the Navy had pulled out because they had lost the battle at sea to Japan for now but would return later -
The Island Hopping Campaign (Starting Date)
This was a military strategy used by the U.S to 'hop' from each major island in the Pacific to concentrate limited Allied resources on strategically important islands that weren't well defended but capable of supporting the drive to mainland Japan -
Rosie the Riveter
This was a female icon that was used to inspire women to take up all the working jobs left behind by the men who all went to war, they worked in factories, shipyards, etc all to support the war effort overseas from at home -
Siciliy and Italy
After the Tehran Conference was discussed Americas first offensive in Europe would be in Siciliy to open up another front to help the Russians fight Germany, the plan was to push up North from Italy and have the Russians push West to sandwich the Germans in a way to hopefully lead to their defeat -
Operation Fortitude
This was a plan by the U.S to set up a fake Army to make the Germans think that the invasion would be up North to draw attention away from the real invasion plan which was Operation Overlord in Normandy -
Operation Overlord
This was the code name for the invasion of Normandy by the Allies, this was used along side Operation Fortitude so that the German defenses/reinforcements wouldn't be as bad to deal with or as quick to reinforce the German lines -
The Liberation of the Philippines
The U.S had owned the Philippines before WW2 started from the Spanish Mexican War and in the beginning of the Japanese conquest Japan invaded and took over which lead to the Bataan Death march due to their overwhelming forces, we then came back later in the war in 1944 and began to land with amphibious landings along side the Philippine Commonwealth military to liberate it -
Battle of the Bulge
Ended Jan 16 1945, this was the last major German offensive on the Western Front, it was an unsuccessful attempt to push the Allies back from German home territory before they would be defeated -
Auschwitz
This is when the Soviet Army had liberated the largest German death camp for Jews at the end of the war, this is the most infamous camp because it was the largest and had killed the most people out of all the other death camps -
Tunnels
The Japanese used many tunnels systems on the islands that they were defending as a way to transport supplies from one end of the island to the other, in the Battle of Iwo Jima they used this to easily resupply the Volcano defense positions, until we blocked off the exit and trapped them in there -
Battle of Iwo Jima
The goal of this battle was to capture the entire island from Japan to use the airfields as another staging area for attacks on the Japanese main islands, this was one of the bloodiest battles in WW2 and it was a very heavily fortified Island with many tunnels connecting to bunkers in the Volcano used in the defense -
Okinawa
This was the last major island of the Island Hopping Campaign before the U.S got to mainland Japan and was the largest amphibious assault in the Pacific, we wanted to use the Kadena Air Base as a staging ground for Operation Downfall and this was the last battle of WW2 -
Unconditional Surrender
This is when Germany surrendered and ended the war in Europe, unconditional surrender is when a country surrenders and their entire government is also dismantled to hopefully prevent a war from happening every again -
Enola Gay (Manufactured Date)
This was the name of the B-29 Super Fortress bomber that dropped the first atomic bomb in WW2, it was named Enola Gay which was the mothers name of the pilot Colonel Paul Tibbets who flew this plane -
Plans for the End of the War
The Potsdam Conference was the last major meeting between Stalin, President Truman, and Prime Minister Attlee which was the discussion of how to handle Germany after their unconditional surrender and they demanded Japan to do the same to prevent prolonged fighting in WW2 -
Dropping the A-bomb
The Atomic Bombs were dropped as a last resort to try and get Japan to surrender to the treaty terms and to finally end the war in the Pacific to officially end the war since Germany and Italy were already defeated, we decided to do this instead of Blockading Japan

This was the first Atomic bomb dropped on the city of Hiroshima which caused massive damage and completely erased the city but Japan still didn't surrender -
Fat Man
This is when the U.S dropped the second atomic bomb 3 days later after Little Boy on Nagasaki and after this Japan finally had agreed to the terms for surrender after both cities had been destroyed by each bomb
