Hitler Publishes Mein Kampf
The book was about how Hitler spoke of strong nationalism and devotion to the state.
He dreamed of uniting all ethnic Germans in a great empire. He talks of Germans, Aryans, as a master race and blamed Jews for Germany’s problems and impurity in race. He wanted to unify all Germans under one empire. -
FDR becomes President in the US
He helped get the US out of the Great Depression. He was a democrat, He had polio. He got us out using the New Deal which included Reform, Relief, Recovery. He helped the Americans more than Herbert Hoober. Longest serving time. -
Hitler leader of Germany
He wanted to build up military and take over. He wanted to expand their empire. Created the 3rd Reich (empire). Wanted to create a master race; the Aryan race. (Blonde hair, blue eyes, dramatic language- such as a german background) Elimination of jews. Used Gestapo to eliminate people in opposite of him and the jews. Germany invades Rhineland
Hitler sent troops into Rhineland. It was a demilitarized area, and one of the richest areas within Germany. This was France's territory but the French didn’t believe it was worth going to war over. First violation of the Treaty of Versailles. -
Germany invades Austria
Anschluss was the agreement to unite Austria with Germany. Hitler was from Austria and wanted them to be under one rule. Hitler was born in Austria and he wanted Austria back and to be combined together. -

After Hitler invaded Poland, France and Great Britain declared war on Germany. United States wanted to stay neutral. They teamed up and tried to get rid of Germany. -

Nazis were bombing Britain to weaken Britain so they could invade later. Britain ended up winning. German and British air forces clashed in the skies over the United Kingdom, locked in the largest sustained bombing campaign to that date. -

Liberation of Auschwitz

He died of polio at the age of 63. People were sad. He served 4 terms in office. Left Harry Truman in charge after he passed. Pain in back of head then collapsed. FDR was sent to see Doctor but died a few hours later. -
Hitler Commits Suicide
Hitler commited suicide so that he wouldn't get captured. He committed suicide a month before Germany surrendered. Consumed a capsule and then shot himself with a pistol. -
Germany Surrenders
Germany surrendered after Soviet Union takes Berlin. Adolf Hitler killed himself a month earlier. Dwight Eisenhower enforced that those forces still fighting were to stop. -
V-E Day
Victory in Europe Day. Germany surrenders to the Allies. Allies win the war. Great Britain and the United States celebrated Victory in Europe. 13,000 POW were sent back to Britain. -
