World War 2 Timeline

  • Non- Agression Pact

    Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler both agreed that they wouldn’t invade each other’s borders. They both planned secretly to divide Eastern Europe and Poland between them. Both the Germans and Russians sign a non-agression pact.
  • World War II Starts To Begin

    Germany invades Poland; and the military forces are unprepared for Germany’s attack. Germany fails and France and Britain delcare war on Germany. Then World War II starts to begin.
  • The Britain Battle Begins

    The Britain Battle begins. The three month battle will include destructive bombing on London and other cities. The British will hand Hitler his first defeat by the end of October.
  • The Attack On Pearl Harbor

    Japan surprises the U.S. at war because they launched an attack on them. The President at that time was Franklin Roosevelt; he will ask the Congress the following day to declare war on Japan. Then three days later after that, Italy and Germany will declare war on the U.S.
  • The U.S. troops have arrived in Europe

    The average of the number of troops that are shipped overseas are about 50,000 per month in March. So when the year 1944 comes, that number should increase to about 250,000 per month. The U.S. troops have arrived in Europe.
  • Assault on Stalingrad

    Germany begins the assault on Stalingrad, the Russian city. Finally the Red Army defeats invading the Nazis. The battle will take at least six months; it will take hundreds of thousands of Russian and German lives.
  • The "Big Three" Meet

    The “Big Three” finally meet each other for the very first time. The “Big Three” is Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin. They all meet in Teheran, Iran to talk about the invasion of Italy.
  • Beginning To Cross The Channel

    Eisenhower is waiting for good weather to decide when the exact day of the invasion will begin. Troops in England are beginning to mobilize to cross the Channel. They are doing this in their effort code-name “Operation Overlord”.
  • Everything Is Set In Motion

    Everything is good to go and is set in motion. The paratroopers flies over France late in the evening to drop spots over them. They also descend into enemy territory to get prepared.
  • D-Day

    This was the Dooms Day. There were over 160,00 Allied troops and 30,000 vehicles that were landed along the coastline of France. They begin to fight on the beaches of Normandy.
