    The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty that brought World War 1 to an end and ended war between Germany and the Allied powers. However, Germany was given strict military capabilities, they were required to pay war reparations, and were forbade of any colonies they had overseas. This caused anger and sparked World War 2.

    Hitler becoming Chancellor of Germany
    Paul von Hindenburg was initially nervous to make Hitler chancellor because of his growing popularity. Ex Chancellor Franz von Papen convinced Hindenburg to appoint Hitler as long as Papen and other government Nazis contained Hitler´s tendencies. Directly after being appointed, Hitler planned to make Germany a powerful on party state.

    When Paul von Hindenburg died, Hitler became Fuhrer which included him being the chancellor, president, and head of the military. This put Hitler in complete power over Germany and led to him overtaking countries.

    D-Day was when the US stormed the beaches of Normandy in order to drive the German military back. The Allied forces were victorious. D-Day marked the turn of the tide for the control maintained by Nazi Germany; less than a year after the invasion, the Germans surrender.

    The US dropped an atomic bomb named ¨Little Boy¨ on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 with hopes of forcing the Japanese to surrender, However, the Japanese never let up forcing the US to drop another atomic bomb named ¨¨ on the town of Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. These two bombings caused about 200,000 deaths and lead to Japanese surrender.
