    Germany Invades Poland
    German forces invaded Poland from the north, south, and west. As the Germans advanced, Polish forces withdrew from their bases, and moved toward their borders.Before they invaded Poland, Germany had signed a nonagression pact with Russia. Hitler knew if he invaded Poland, Britain and France would attack from the west, so he made a deal with Russia saying that if they promised not to attack along with Britain and France, Germany would split Poland in half. This marked the beginning of the war.

    Bombing of Pearl Harbor
    The bombing of Pearl Habror was surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. More than 2,400 Americans were dead, 21 ships had either been sunk or damaged, and more than 188 U.S. aircrafts were destroyed. The US declared war on the Japanese the following day.

    The Battle of Midway was a four day battle fought between the US airbased aircraft and the Japanese. Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, sought to draw the US Pacific Fleet into a battle where he could overwhelm and destroy it, but it didnt happen that way. On June 4, 1942, the US aircraft flying attacked and sunk four Japanese carriers. The U.S. destroyed hundreds of Japanese planes and regained control of the Pacific. This marked the turning point of the war in the Pacific.

    The Battle of Stalingrad was a major battle of World War II in which Nazi Germany, and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad in southwestern Soviet Union. Because Germany bombed Stalingrad, the soviets fought them back for it. To defeat the Germans, the Soviets decided to trap them inside the city with no food/water. Germany finally surrendered. This marked a turning point in the war for the Eastern Front.
