A major battle between U.S. marines and Japanese Army. U.S. captured Iwo Jima during World War 2. This battle started because the U.S. was following military strategy. They wanted to wipe Japan's economy. After the battle, Japan's airfields shut down and they lost their bases. -

A public holiday to celebrate Allies and Germany's surrender. People were overjoyed that the Nazis surrendered so they wanted to celebrate. Both Great Britain and United States took part in VE Day. -

American bomber, Enola Gay, dropped a five ton bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. U.S. really wanted toend the long war so they started this battle. After this battle, there was "black rain" which is the falling of dirt, rumors began and people were cathcing PTSD. -
