Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his bunker in Germany. He married is wife two days before. His body was cremated and stolen by the Soviet forces. A week later, German declared unconditional surrender. -
Hiroshima Bombing

A bomb sent to Hiroshima, Japan from the U.S. exploded in the morning. The bombs nickname was “Little Boy.” Everything within a mile was destroyed but the majority of the city was highly damaged. Over one hundred-thousand people died immediately and over twice that died within the next few years because of the radiation. This was the first ever atomic weapon used. -
Nagasaki Bombing

Three days after the Hiroshima bombing, another bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. This bomb got the nickname “Fat Man.” Luckily, the damage done by the Nagasaki bomb was not as big as the damage from the Hiroshima bomb. Over forty thousand people died. A year later thirty thousand were people had died from radiation. -
End of the War

Nuremberg Trials

The Nuremberg Trials put Nazi leaders on trial for their Holocaust war crimes. There were twenty-two Nazi criminals put on the stand. Twelve of them were found guilty and were sentenced to death. Hitler however could not be put on trial, he was already dead by then.
