Later after the Russian troops regrouped, they were much stronger. Within a month the negotiations began and the Soviet Union took control of the land bridge that gave access to Leningrad. The Soviets were eagerly waiting to control that bridge.

When Norway did not surrender, German troops started their invasion, but the Norwegians refused the German rule and continued to fight against the Germans with the British. To get the British troops to leave the Germans began to close in on France. Not all but many British troops left to aid France. After this the Norwegians could not hold off the Germans and lost. Unlike Norway Denmark surendered and gave up alsmost immediately.

This ended on the 3rd of June. Around 340,000 Allied troops were saved. The Exacuation was a result of Germany's invasion in France.

    On August 14th, 1945 Japan surrendered to the Untied States. Both August 14th and 15th are known as V-J Day. V-J Day stands for Victory over Japan Day. September 2, 1945 is also known as V-J Day. That was the day that Japn formally surrendered. This celebration was held on the U.S.S. Missouri in Tokyo Bay.
