World War 2

  • Judith hears about the bombing/evacuation though thinks nothing of it

Judith is ten years old, rumors about bombings and an evacuation have overwhelmed the town she lives in. This doesn't faze her like most others due to the fact that they don't believe how something so big as WWII could affect them
  • Judith leaves for the United States and leaves her family alone

On this day almost 3 million children, including Judith, were evacuated to move out of the danger zones. The children were moved all around places to prevent the Nazis from hurting and maybe even killing the innocent.
  • Judith receives a letter from her parents about her brother leaving

During the evacuation period letters were sent to keep Judith informed about her family back home. One of these included the information about her brother becoming a part of the Royal Air Force (RAF).
  • Pearl Harbor Attacks

One of the hardest days during the war was the Pearl Harbor attacks. This woke the sleeping beast as most people referred to America as. This also gave Judith something to fight for, as Britain and USA were in the Allies, to help America she was helping her brother.
  • The attack on Nuremberg and RAF loses 545 men (one of them is her brother)

Although she didn't know it, this day changed Judith's life forever. On this day, the RAF (Royal Air Force) attacked Nuremberg and this resulted in 545 men losing their lives. Unfortunately one of the men happened to be her brother.
  • Helps out in factories as her "duty"

As the war showed no sign of ending, Judith wanted to help out and try and make a difference in what could happen. She worked in factories as many other women did and risked her life to make sure the national defense had the amo and sources they needed.
  • WW2 Ends

This day was a celebration for everyone. The war had ended and not only did the men return home but the children from Britain got to see their families once again.
  • Returns home to no brother though her family was still intact

Judith was apart of the mass group of children coming home to see their families. Most of them could not wait. Though some of them came home to almost nothing. Judith came home to her home still intact but she had no brother, the war had taken away her brother and forced her to live without him. Unfortunately this is the price people had to pay.
