  • Rape of nanking

    when the capital of china falls into the Japanese hands they were ordered to completely destroy nanking, and that's exactly what happend. with over 150,000 male prisoners being killed and 50,000 male civilians alongside. there was also 20,00 woman who got raped and killed in the process.
  • Kristallnacht

    also known as the crystal night because german nazi's attacked Jews. Storms of German fighters attacked jews and all their property, at the end of the night the streets were flled with broken glass and this could symbolically mean the shattering of jews, since it made living in Germany for them next to impossible.
  • The SS St.Louis

    The SS St.Louis
    An estimated 900 plus people fled from Germany in hopes to take refuge in Heaven. There they would be able to move to the U.S. However sadly they were rejected and forced to go back to Europe. This resulted in the death of over 250 people. Everyone that fled identified as a Jew so being sent back was basically a death sentence.
  • German Blitzkrieg

    German Blitzkrieg
    German Blitzkrieg, was one of the most devastating war tactics ever used in any war. During the Blitzkrieg would create hysteria, germans called it Blitzkrieg "lightning war" because their battles would end so quickly because they would get a large amount of troops, and strike suddenly out of nowhere, using their fire power, and vehicles to kill the soldiers at one time. They used this tactic because it would quickly demolish their enemy. Germany used this to take over Poland.
  • Fall of France

    also known as the battle of France, with Germany feeling good about their successful attack on Poland they were planning to do it in France too. France fell into Germany's hands by signing an armistice in the end.
  • Battle of Britain

    Battle of Britain
    Germany began bombing Britains air force in attempt to cripple Britains main military force and launch an all out invasion. This plan did work out because Germany was fighting Britains in there home field meaning Britain could see the incoming danger before they were able to launch an attack. This gave Britain the time it needed to set up defences. Britain had skilled air force solider and due to this they were able to push Germany back. The attack ultimatly ended as a failure.
  • Evacuation of Dunkirk

    Evacuation of Dunkirk
    From May 27th to June 4th 1940 over 300,000 allied solders where on the beaches of Dunkirk in France as they where retreating from France because Germany was quickly taking over. So the prime minister of Britain ordered all troops to leave. This effected Britain as they all lost posts in France meaning they lost their grasp, and had to leave, but it was great for Germany as it was easier to take over with minimal effort.

  • The final Solution

    The final solution was a code name meaning "kill all jews". the plan was set up in stages and "the night of the broken glass" was directly related to this and the final stage of the plan. all these were code names the nazi's used so the Jews wouldn't catch onto their plans.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    Pearl Harbor, known to be one of the most lost lives at base. December/7/1941 Japan decided to bomb and kamikaze raid the US ship base in Hawaii. This happen because Japan was trying to prevent the US fleet from interfering their plans of invading Asia. The effects of this were detrimental, because many soldiers lost their lives, the US lost many destroyers, and most of all, the US decided to drop two nuclear bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

    Japanese Canadians internment
    The Canadian government made Japanese interment camps in fear of a spy being among one of them. Japanese were treated cruelly and were forced to work for little to nothing. The people that were in the Japanese interment are responsible for the creation of the railway of course they didn't do the work willingly.

    High ranking nazi leaders gathered at a tiny Berlin suburb to discuss the "final solution" for the "jew" problem of Germany and wider Europe. Due to the Wannsee conference jews were massacred threw the co-ordination and cooperation with Europe.

    Liberation of the Netherlands
    After D-Day the Canadian army was tasked to free the Netherlands from Germany's control, and so a massive assault started from the south of the Netherlands. This all happen because Germany had invaded the Netherlands, and so Canada helped free then with the support of Britain and the US.

    June/6/1944 was a very scary and saddening day, known as Decision day "D-Day", as over 130,000 British, Canadian and american solders stormed the beaches of Normandy. This happen because Germany was quickly taking over all of Europe, and so the three allies decided to start taking back Europe. The impact of the war was devastating but positive effect, by the end of the invasion over 450,000 allied and enemy soldiers lost there lives, but it also paved the road for a take back of Europe.
  • British Commonwealth Air Training Plan

    British Commonwealth Air Training Plan
    Some time into 1939 Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand and Australia all signed an agreement that created British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP). This was a training camp that would be located in Canada. Canada was the perfect that training ground because of the similarities between Canadas training land and the battle field. Between 1939 and 1945 Canada trained 130,000 crewmen and women. This was one of Canadas biggest contribution to WW2.
  • Death of Hitler

    At the ending of world war 2, the soviet union had surrounded Berlin where Hitler was under ground in his bunker. As the soviet solders came closer Hitler made the decision of killing himself as well as his wife and dog because of the lost war against the world. This officially ended the war against Germany as Hitler "Germans leader" had killed himself.
  • The Liberation of Italy

    The Liberation of Italy
    The "good guys"(Allies) pushed with all there might. There goal was to take out Italy and draw out some nazi Germany solider so the allied troops could push from the other side and regain some of there land. The good guys knew Germany was spread to thin so Germany would need to back Italy if it ever hoped to maintain its land. The good guys pushed through Italy while taking heavy losses. On June 4 1945 Germany was finally defeated. This was near the end of the war and was the finishing blow.
  • VE day

    Also known as the victory in Europe. this was the day that germany surrendered and the day all will celebrate for witnessing the war or participating init.

    Japan was felt in a state of ruin and due this is due to the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki. The Potsdam Declaration demanded that japan surrenders. Japan had no choice to agree to the terms. The united states (U.S) had no choice but to partake in the WW2 after Japan allegedly bombed pearl harbour which was a U.S military base located on Hawaii. Once Japan surrendered the alliance it had with Russia and Italy was damaged from the military perspective.
  • Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    After Pearl Harbor attacks done by Japan, the US decided to drop two atomic bombs, Fat man and little boy, these atomic bombs where dropped on the two cities called Hiroshima and Nagasaki, instantly killing of 90% of the population. Later after the bombing the Japanese emperor surrender on radio saying the bombs dropped where too powerful.
