Hitler invaded Poland because it was taken away from him after WW2, alarmed the British and French declared war on germany because they didn't want him to become any more powerful, and become a threat to them. -
Japan Attacks Pearl Harbor
The war between the Japanese and Chinese was using up Japan's resources so in order to get more they needed to take the Dutch East Indies. They did not want the Americans to interfere so they attacked Pearl Harbor to disable the American fleet while they attacked the East Indies. -
United Nations formed
The United Nations was formed by the U.S. along with 49 other countries to keep peace amongst its countries. UN members can vote on issues. An 11 country security council investigates ans settles disputes. -
Germany surrenders
The Germans were caught between Russia and the rest of the Allies. In a last effort the Germans came up short. Hitler commited suicide and, the Third Reich's military unconditionally surrendered. The people celebrated Victory in Europe Day. -
Allies use Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
The Japanese were the only one left for the allies the defeat, and they would not surrender. The U.S. warned them about something bad coming but the Japanese did not surrender so the Unites States used their A Bomb created in an undercover project called The Manhattan Project. the Japanese di not surrender, and they faced the consequences.
