Japanese fighter planes attacked the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor. The attack lasted two hours and resulted in more than 2,000 American deaths. It was an calm Sunday morning and I was preparing to go to church. I was half way through breakfast when I heard a loud booming sound. I rush out my house to see my base in total pandemonium. I was determined to survive. -
Japanese Language Schools Closed, Many People are Offended.
Japanese Language Schools With the outbreak of World War 2, the Canadian Government confiscated all private, commercial, and community properties and businesses owned by Japanese Canadians. Because of this Japense Launguage schools were forced to close. I being of Japanese decent are truly outraged and embarassed of my peoples behavior. I feel so betrayed and I can only hope that the Canadian Government will reinstate the language schools -
General Freezes Travel for all suspect Aliens
Freeze The Attorney General stops all forms of travel for all suspected aliens until further notice. Throughout history people have always racially profiled because its been the way of life since the beginning of time. When the Attorney General froze travel from suspected enemies it got to me because it meant i couldnt go and see my family. -
Attorney establish curfews in California
Curfew All of northern California was declared a "strategic area" and Axis aliens were subject to a 9 p.m. curfew. Being a "illegal alien" I am forced to be in closed doors by 9! Its completely and totally ridiculous! My mother says I should just be quiet and do what I am told, but I wont let them bring me down! -
President Authorizes Order 9066
Executive Order President Roosevelt signed Executive Order No. 9066, authorizing Secretary of War, or any military commander designated by Secretary to establish 'military areas' and exclude therefrom 'any or all persons'.
My troops and I are highly appreciative of the Presidents executive order. It will benifit us greatly and the best part is no will poke their noses in it. -

Secretary of War Henry Stimson announced plans to form an all-Japanese American Combat team Being the Secretary of War, I believe that my proposal to have an all-Japanese American Combat team is not only take our enemy out, but they also wont see it coming. -
Registration for Army recruitment
Draft Due to World War 2 there was an increasingly high need for soldiers. So a draft was sent out. Yes! Finally I will get to do my civic duty by serving my country! I mean, the war has been going on for two years and I have sat around helpless to the cause. Now I am officially seventeen and I am so ready! -
WRA announces closing date for internment camps
closing of interment camps December 18 The WRA announced that all internment camps would be closed before the end of 1945 and the entire WRA program would be liquidated on June 30, 1946. As a child I remember I would always hear my parents talking about the day when we would get released but I never believed it until today. Now there is a spark of newfound hope. -
Supreme Court rules in favor of imprisionment without a trial
Imprisonment December 18 the U.S. Supreme Court rules that one group of citizens may be singled out/expelled and imprisoned for several years without trial, based solely on their ancestry. Hearing of the Supreme Courts Ruling stiked great fear into my heart. I was scared for my children, my friends, my husband, and for my own life! -

Free All Japanese American Regiment frees prisoners at Dachau Concentration Camps Finally after a long battle the Japanese were freed. As i walked out of the gates of prision all i thought was "freedom" it was the best feeling i ever had. -

All WRA Internment camps are closed except for Tule Lake Center
After three years of waiting, praying, and hoping, the day has finally came. We are free. I never thought id ever see this day but I did and I feel on top of the world.
