Japan Invades Manchurria
SInce Japan did not have any natural resources. So wanted to takeover China.. The first place in China that they invaded was Manchurria which had a lot of minerals that included iron, coal, oil, and gold. They would help in the war. -
Italy Invades Ethiopia
Italy invaded Ethiopia partly because they wanted revenge for having lost the Battle of Adowa. Also because they needed the oil to fuel Hitler's amy. -
Non-Agression Agreement
Hitler wanted to invade Poland on two fronts. But he couldn't do it because the Soviet Union was on the other side. So he met with Stalin and they signed a non-aggression pact. The pact said that if the Soviets helped them take over Poland they would get half of it. But hitler was planing to take out the Soviets in the future. -

Germany invaded Poland because they wanted to get back the land that was taken away from them by the Treaty of Versailles. It only took 10 days to take over Poland and only 1 to defeat theier airforce. -

Great Britain and France declare war on Germany two days after they attacked Poland, because they had an alliance with them. They wanted to stop Germany before it got too powerful to stop. -

The Germns needed to take control of the English Channel to invade Britain. They needed to take control of the English Channel so that the English Navy would not attack the German ships. To do that they needed to control the air to bomb the boats using the Air Force. But the Britttish won anyways. -
Attack on Pearl Harbor
Japanese attack. The main ourpose was to destroy all of the American Navy which was stationed at Pearl Harbor. Also to drag the U.S. into the war. -

The day after the attack on Pearl Harbor. President FDR gave a speech about how the date of before will always live in infamy. Alse he declared war on Japan and thus the U.S. enters WWII. -

First air raid on the Japanese. It was not meant to do any harm but only to cause fear on the Japanese and to give the soldiers courage and hope. -

The British drove the Italians out of North Africa. And the Italians retreatted back to Italy. -

The objective was to take over the beachhead at Normandy. Hitler refused to send in reinforcements because he thought it was another fake raid. -

Tha last major offensive against the Allies by Hitler. It was his last attempt to take over the land that had been taken away from him by the Allies. -

The Allies had to take the island of Iwo Jima and its three airfields. The Allies wanted the airfields and the islands because the islands was close to Japan, and after bombing the capital the planes needed somewhere close to land in. -
Battle of Okinawa
The Battle of Okinawa was the largest amphibious attack in the Pacific war. It was to use the island as the base of all air operations for the mainland invasion. -
V- Day for England
Europe finally win the war and Hitler kills himself and Germany surrenders. -
Germany Surrenders
Germany Surrenders when the Allies defeat Hitlers troops in Berlin. Hitler goes suicidal and kills himsefl, and his wife, and his dog. -
Hiroshima Bomb
The U.S. told the Japanese to surrender peacefully or else they were going to lsuffer the consequences. The japanese did not surrender so the U.S. bomb Hiroshima with the atom bomb. -
Nagasaki Bomb
After the U.S. bombed Hiroshima, they asked Japan if they would surrender and they said no so then they dropped another atomic bomb in Nagasaki. After that, Japan surrendered because they thought we had many more but we only had one left. -
Japan Surrenders
After dropping the second and final atomic bomb at Nagasaki, Japan surrendered. They surrendered because they thought that the U.S. had many more atomic bombs and also because it killed many innocent people. -
