    Hitler is appointed Chancellor of Germany
    President Hindenburg appoints Hitler Chancellor of Germany. He later became President. This was basis for all of his power.

    Hitler, Mussolini, Chamberlain, and Daladier met to discuss Hitler having control of Sudetanland. Sudetanland was part of Czechoslovakia. They all ended up signing a treaty that gave Hitler control, little did they know this would backfire.

    Even though a treaty was signed it wasn't enough for Hitler. He decided to invade. By doing this he broke the treaty.

    Hitler and Stalin decide to make a pact called the Nazi-Soviet Pact. This was a non-aggression pact. In the pact they were going to divide Poland and Europe between themselves.

    Japanese fighter jets flew over Pearl Harbor and dropped bombs to destroy it. All but three ships were sunk. This was strike three for the United States in entering the war.

    The United States became very angry.Due to the bombing of Pearl Harbor the United States decided to enter the war. They declared war on Japan.

    The Battle of Midway was the turning point for the war in the Pacific. This battle was betwee the Japanese and the US. THe US was able to push the Japanese back.
  • Italy surrenders

    Mussolini had been thrown out of office and the new government surrendered to the US and Britian. This was soon put to a stop because the Germans intervened. Mussolini was freed and used in Northern Italy as head of a "puppet government."
  • D-Day

    Allied forces stormed a beach in Normandy, France. Over 150,000 soilders stormed the beach. This was the turning point of the war in Europe.
